Conjugate Additions of a Simple Monosilylcopper Reagent with Use of the
Complex: Stereoselectivities and a Dramatic Impact by DMS. — The
24- 153 CuI·DMS
silylcopper compounds generated from LiSiMe2Ph or LiSiPh2Me and CuI·DMS are
found to be efficient reagents for the regio- and stereoselective silylation of various
α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds including sterically hindered enones. The presence of DMS is necessary to achieve high yield and high diastereoselectivity.
