Solventless Synthesis of Bi2S3 (Bismuthinite) Nanorods, Nanowires, and Nanofab— The title nanoparticles are synthesized by thermolysis of precursors obtained

from mixtures of Bi(NO3)3, Me-(CH2)6-COONa, and Me-(C2H2)11-SH in CHCl3/H 2O.
Bi2S3 nanowires with high aspect ratio (>100) are obtained at about 225 °C in ≈20%
yield. At about 160 °C with the addition of elemental S the reaction produces nanorods
(33% yield). Reaction temperatures about 250 °C lead to crossed nanowire networks,
