Identification of Putative Metabolites of Docosahexaenoic Acid as Potent PPARγ
and Antidiabetic Agents. — A series of putative metabolites of docosa26- 169 Agonists
hexaenoic acid (DHA) is prepared and their activity as PPARγ activators or antidiabetic
agents is studied. (I) is a fourfold stronger PPARγ activator than pioglitazone and (II)
shows antidiabetic activity in animal models without producing undesirable effects
