Synthesis and High-Pressure Electrical Resistivity Studies of Ti3Al. — The title
is prepared from a mixture of fine powders of metallic Al and Ti in the ratio
27- 011 compound
1:8 (1100 °C, 10 h). The samples are characterized by powder XRD and electrical resistivity measurements as a function of pressure (up to 10 GPa) and temperature (up to
250 °C). The resistivity increases with increasing pressure. The temperature effect
causes an upward shift in the electrical resistivity in the range of pressure considered.
Thus, Ti3Al shows improved electrical properties under pressure and temperature up to
a maximum of 10 GPa and 250 °C, respectively. — (VENNILA*, R. S.;
