— Chemoselective hydrogenation of halogenated nitrobenzenes over Pt—C catalysts
proceeds effectively in supercritical carbon dioxide to give halogenated anilines with
excellent selectivity. The rate of the hydrogenation of nitro groups is markedly increased in supercritical carbon dioxide compared to the neat reaction, possibly due to
modification of the catalyst surface with CO generated from CO2 hydrogenation. The
