Rb3In(H2O)Si5O13: A Novel Indium Silicate with a CdSO4-Topological-Type Structure. — The novel title compound is prepared by hydrothermal reaction of In2O3,
RbOH, and SiO2 (H2O, 600 °C, autoclave, 8 h; ≈40% yield). Rb3In(H2O)Si5O13 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group Cc with Z = 4 (single crystal XRD). The structure
consists of a silicate framework formed by five-membered rings of corner-sharing SiO4
tetrahedra. The InO6 octahedra share five of their corners with five different SiO4 tetrahedra to form a three-dimensional framework that delimits two types of channels in
which the Rb+ ions are located. The Rb3In(H2O)Si5O13 crystal shows an intense second
