Layered Ordering of Vacancies of Lead Iron Phosphate Pb3Fe2(PO4)4. — The title
compound is synthesized by solid state reaction of a stoichiometric mixture of Fe2O3,
PbCO3, and NH4H2PO 4 (1123 K, 120 h). The samples are characterized by powder
XRD, electron diffraction, DSC, and Moessbauer and IR spectroscopy. The compound
crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with Z = 2. The three-dimensional
open framework is formed by vertex-sharing PO4 tetrahedra and FeO6 octahedra. —
