Mg1-xRhB — A New Boridometallide with 2D Polyanion. — The new magnesium
boridometallide of title is prepared by reaction of the elements at 1323 K (argon-filled
sealed Ta container). A narrow homogeneity range (0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.08) is established by
powder XRD and EDXS. Single-crystal XRD data are given for Mg0.97 RhB (space
group P6222, Z = 6). The structure can be topologically described as a derivative of the
CeCo3B2 type structure where the positions in the cobalt layers are occupied by Mg and
Rh atoms in an ordered manner. The material is weakly diamagnetic and exhibits metallic conductivity. — (ALEKSEEVA*, A. M.; ABAKUMOV, A. M.;
