Synthesis of Sr2AlH7 by Ball Milling Followed by Hydrogenation. — The title
compound is synthesized by ball milling of Sr2Al (obtained by induction melting of Sr
and Al metals) under hydrogen (150 rpm, 10 h) followed by hydrogenation or sintering
(autoclave, 7 MPa H2, 533 K, 2 d). The yield of Sr2AlH7 in the hydrogenated product
is 66 wt%, which is larger than that in the sintered product. If the Sr2Al alloy is milled
at 300 rpm for 50 h or longer, the mass fraction of Al decreases strongly and the title
compound cannot be obtained during subsequent hydrogenation. — (ZHANG, Q. A.;
