Synthesis and Photoluminescence Characteristics of Dy3+-Doped ZnAl2O4 Nanocrystals via a Combustion Process. — Ultrafine nanocrystals of the title compound
30- 017 are synthesized by a combustion process from stoichiometric mixtures of Zn(NO3)2,
Al(NO3)3, and Dy2O3 in water using urea as fuel for the combustion (350 °C, 15 min).
The samples are characterized by TEM and absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy. They exhibit three emission bands in the blue, yellow, and green regions. The
blue and yellow emissions are ascribed to the typical Dy3+ emission, while the green
