in the presence of TEMPO as the catalyst is investigated. Olefins (I) and (III) gives the
products (II) and (IV) of allylic oxidation. The dihydrocyclohexadienes (V) and (VII)
are simply converted to the arene p-cumol. The triene (VIII) produces a product mixture
from which the dione (IX) containing rearranged double bonds can be isolated. —
