Structure and Magnetic Properties of a Novel Copper Halide Framework
{[tBuNH3]2[Cu3(�OH)(�H2O)Cl7]}n Synthesized via in situ Templation. ? The
in situ formation of the tBuNH+3 cation from (tBuNH)3PO directs the reaction to the
formation of a copper halide chain with a novel Cu3 cluster as repeating unit, while the
direct addition of tBu NH+3 produces polymeric (IV). (tBuNH)2PO not only generates
the templating tBu NH+3 cation but also accepts a proton in the solvothermal process.
The structures of title compound (II) (orthorhombic, space group Pnma, Z = 8), byproduct (III) (triclinic, P1, Z = 2), and (IV) (monoclinic, P21/n, Z = 4) are determined by
