Phase Equilibria in the Dy—Cu—Sn Ternary System. —
The 770 K (0—50 at.% Sn) and 670 K (50—100 at.% Sn) isothermal sections of the
phase diagram of the title system are constructed and the existence of three intermetallic
compounds is confirmed. Two new ternary compounds, Dy15Cu 65Sn20 (space group
I4mm, Sm2Cu4Sn5 type structure) and Dy2Cu4Sn5 (space group P63/mmc), are identified
and their structures are refined from powder XRD data. The crystal structure of
Dy6Cu 8Sn 8 is determined by single crystal XRD (space group Immm, Z = 1; Gd6Cu 8Ge 8
