Synthesis, Structure and Properties of LnMn1/2Rh 1/2O3 (Ln: Rare Earth). — Title
compounds with Ln: La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, and Gd are synthesized by solid state reactions
of stoichiometric mixtures of Ln2O3, Mn 2O3, and Rh2O3 (1273—1323 K). As revealed
by powder XRD the compounds crystallize in the space group Pnma. They exhibit ferromagnetic behavior at low temperature, but rare earth elements of higher atomic number suppress the ferromagnetic interaction. The electrical conductivity shows semiconducting behavior above room temperature. The conductivity decreases with increasing
