Hydrothermal Synthesis and Structural Characterization of a Novel NLO Compound, La(MoO2)(OH)(IO3)4. — The title compound is synthesized hydrothermally
35- 021 from
an aqueous solution of La(NO3)3, MoO3, H5IO6, and I2O5 (autoclave, 170 °C, 7 d,
86% yield). As revealed by single crystal XRD, La(MoO2)(OH)(IO3)4 crystallizes in
the polar and chiral space group P21 with Z = 2. The structure is a complex three-dimensional network formed by eight coordinated La3+ cations, strongly distorted
octahedral Mo(VI) centers, and bridging iodate anions. SHG measurements using a
1064 nm light source reveal generation of green light of 532 nm. — (CHEN*, X.;
