Low-Temperature Synthesis of Single Crystalline Ag2S Nanowires on Silver
— Ag2S nanowires are synthesized by exposing a preoxidized Ag foil to
35- 240 Substrates.
an O2/H2S mixture between room temperature and 40 °C. The samples are characterized by powder XRD, SEM, EDX, TEM, and XPS. The nanowires have diameters of
a few tens of nanometers and lengths up to 100 µm. Thinning and cutting of individual
Ag2S nanowires is achieved with electron beams and laser beams, which are potentially
useful for nanowire manipulation and engineering. It is concluded that the gas—solid
reaction method is an important step toward the development of fabrication methods
