Structure and Phase Relations of the Zn2x(CuIn) 1-xS2 Solid Solution Series. —
The title compounds are prepared by solid state reaction of the elements at 950 °C. The
compounds are characterized by powder X-ray and neutron diffraction, and TEM.
Compounds with 0 ≤ x < 0.1 crystallize in the tetragonal chalcopyrite-type structure
and those with 0.4 < x ≤ 1 in the cubic sphalerite-type structure. For 0.1 ≤ x ≤ 0.4, a
miscibility gap exists, indicated by the coexistence of two phases, resulting in crystals
