Two Halogeno(cyano)cuprates with Long-Lived and Strong Luminescence. —
The structures of the novel cuprates (II) (monoclinic, space group P21/c, Z = 4) and (III)
(monoclinic, C2/c, Z = 4) are determined by single crystal XRD. In (II), four Cu+ ions
are connected via two µ-Br and two µ3-Br atoms to neutral [Cu4Br4] clusters, which are
further connected via doubly-bridging [Cu(CN)2]- linkers to form ribbon-like chains.
The Cu+ ions in (III) are connected via µ-Cl, µ-CN, and µ3-CN ligand into fluctuant
sheets, which are further linked by another kind of µ-CN ligands to form a three-dimensional nanoporous framework with channels where the Me4N+ cations reside. (II) displays a strong and sharp blue (432 nm) fluorescence emission band upon excitation at
290 nm, while (III) exhibits strong green (644 nm) emission upon excitation at 312 nm
and weak orange (632 nm) emission upon excitation at 434 nm. — (LIU, X.; GUO*,
