Metallic Nanowires of Nb3Te4: A Nanostructured Chalcogenide. — The title
are synthesized by direct chemical vapor transport from the respective ele36- 216 nanowires
mental powders (900 °C, 1 h—7 d) followed by annealing (1160 °C, 2 d). The samples
are characterized by powder XRD, XPS, SEM, and TEM. The wires are straight with
diameters of 50 nm—1 µm. Separated wires display weak, temperature independent
magnetism between 1.8 and 300 K, which is characteristic of a Pauli magnet. The wires
are metallic but not superconducting above 1.8 K. — (EDWARDS, H. K.; SALYER,
