the aldol products in good yields and enantioselectivities. The size of the ester alkyl
group significantly influences the selectivity. Compounds bearing the small methyl ester group provide better enantioselectivities than those with benzyl and tert butyl ester
groups. An unexpected reversal in enantioselectivity is observed between methyl and
