One in nine men gets diagnosed with prostate cancer, and someone dies of it every 20 minutes, but men seem reticent to do the digital rectal-exam screening and talk about the issue for fear of appearing vulnerable. The PCF has raised more than $700 million and funded more than 2,000 research programs. He was cheeky.” His world was shattered at just 12 years old when he lost not only his mother but also the chance to grieve her privately. He and William, then 15, were forced to walk behind her coin, and “the sound of people wailing and sobbing will always remain with them,” says Morton. Of that dark time, Harry told Newsweek in 2017, “I don’t think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances.” Exacerbating his pain, the young prince didn’t get the support he desperately needed from his dad. “Prince Charles was a loving father, but he would never discipline his kids,” says Morton. “He would say to an oicial, ‘You deal with it,’ and put his headphones back on and listen to opera.” Just before her death, Diana had also been worried about Harry, who had been held back a year in school. “Diana called William because he was concerned that all the attention would be on Harry because he had been kept down a year at Ludgrove [preparatory school],” Morton says. “He was concerned there would be a lot of pressure on Harry.” Whereas William had always been the studious older brother, Harry “wasn’t particularly academic,” says a Palace source. “Looking back, he was grieving quite a bit, but nobody really recognized it that way. He was quite sad and masked it with this naughtiness, but there was a vulnerable little boy in there.” By his 20s, Harry’s struggles became even more apparent. “He was a troubled, angry, damaged young man,” says Duncan Larcombe, a former royals reporter who traveled with Prince Harry throughout much of the early 2000s and is the author of the new biography Prince Harry: The Inside Story. “He had a circle of some friends who weren’t a particular good influence on him.” In 2005 Harry’s picture wassplashed on frontpages around the world showing the then-20-year-old wearing a Nazi uniform at a costume party. He made headlines again after naked photos emerged from his strip billiards game in Las Vegas in 2012. But behind the scenes he had spiraled even further than anyone realized. He only recently admitted that after two years of “total chaos” he came close to a “complete breakdown. My way of dealing with it was sticking my head in the sand, refusing to think about my mum,” he told theDaily Telegraph in 2017. His Changing Looks! From Boy to Man 2002 2003 2004 As he finally began to cope with his grief, he also started to find a sense of order through his decade of service in the British Army, including two tours in Afghanistan. “He went into the army a young, angry, reluctant prince and came out an accomplished pilot and a leader of men,” says Larcombe. Harry’s service led him to found the Invictus Games, his annual Paralympic-style competition for wounded warriors. “You’d be getting changed in the locker room at Invictus and Harry would suddenly appear and say, ‘Let’s have a selfie!’ while you’ve got your underwear on,” recalls one veteran. “He gives you time, and he speaks honestly to you. I’ve heard him say a few times, ‘I always get an honest answer off a squaddie [i.e., soldier].’ That’s the sort of bloke he is.” “My area of interest will always be the veterans,” Harry told People in May 2016. “For me it’s the difference between being helpless and being able to help.” His newfound sense of purpose brought a stability he had long lacked. “Harry’s drinking days are over,” says a source. “All of his best friends have settled and had children, so he’s had fewer people to go out and play with. He realized he was getting a bit older and that it was time to settle down a little bit.” Adds Larcombe: “He desperately wanted to get married and be happy. It was clear that Meghan had inherited her mother’s strong sense of right and wrong and was prepared to stand up for herself and for others. On one occasion the so-called “mean girls” announced that they were starting a “White Girls Only” club and wanted Meghan to join. “Are you kidding me?” said Meghan to the gaggle of fellow pupils, dismissing them in a sentence. They went very quiet after that. That playground confrontation highlighted Meghan’s own concerns about her identity. Around this time, Christmas 1988, she tells the story of how her father bought two sets of Heart dolls containing the traditional nuclear family unit of mother, father and two children. He bought one with black dolls, one with white and mixed them together to represent Meghan’s own family. Then he wrapped them in sparkly Christmas paper and placed the box under the tree. Her struggle to understand herself and where she was placed in the scheme of humanity instinctively made her more aware of those who had difficulties fitting in. As [former schoolmate] Elizabeth McCoy recalls: “You never forget the people who were mean to you and who was nice. That’s why I have never forgotten Meghan. She was one of the most righteous people I have ever met. If someone was being treated unfairly she stuck up for them. On one occasion I made the girl who bullied me cry. I tried to apologize and Meghan sided with the other girl because she was the one in tears. “Meghan called it like it was. She was going to defend those who needed it. Her attitude was: ‘I can see you are hurt and I’m going to protect you.’ She was a genuinely decent human being who looked out for people who needed help. She gave a damn about people other than herself.” Excerpted from MEGHAN: A Hollywood Princess by Andrew Morton. Copyright © 2018 by Andrew Morton. Used by arrangement with Grand Central Publishing. As she sobered up, she began praying that no one would find out exactly how she had gotten there. “It was the worst thing that ever happened to me,” de Lesseps says of her Dec. 23 arrest for disorderly intoxication, recalling that after an afternoon of drinking with a girlfriend, she went back to the Colony Hotel, where she was staying. There she met up with an exboyfriend and became disoriented as they tried to find her room, ending up in the wrong one. Despite her hope that it wouldn’t make the news, as she left jail the next day in a pair of men’s size-12 flip-flops and without her purse or cell phone, the story was already Internet fodder. “It was so embarrassing and so shameful,” she says. Three months later de Lesseps, 52, says the incident was also the wake-up call she needed to finally face her demons and change her life for the better. It had been a diicult 2017 for her. After a New Year’s Eve wedding to Tom D’Agostino Jr., her marriage ended just seven months later when she realized he wouldn’t give up his “bachelor lifestyle.” De Lesseps, who always drank alcohol socially, says she began drinking more heavily on a daily basis—at least seven drinks a day. “I would start with a martini and maybe have two martinis and then get into the wine at dinner,” she says. “Then I’d have a little bit of vodka soda before going out.” But eventually the alcohol wasn’t numbing the pain. “I would have the hair-of-the-dog drink the next day, and drink more, and it didn’t feel good. Alcohol just stopped working for me,” she says. The only place where I felt like I was going to be okay was rehab.” She also knew she had to have an uncomfortable conversation with her children explaining the arrest. “I told my children I did something that I am not proud of, and I asked 2 A Wild Year 1. Rehab was a godsend.” She also started going to therapy for the first time in her life and realized it wasn’t only her most recent divorce that was leading her to drink excessively but also PTSD from a car accident she’d had in 1999 when her children Victoria and Noel were just 2 and 4. “I came down a mountainside in Switzerland. I haven’t even thought about a guy.” So far she says she hasn’t been tempted to drink but is taking things day by day. “Everybody around me says, ‘Luann, you’re not an alcoholic.’ I don’t know if I am or not. All I know is that not drinking works for me right now. Will I drink again? I don’t know. I miss good red wine. Not to say that I’ll never have good red wine again. Who knows where we’ll all be tomorrow. For today, that’s the choice that I’m making for myself.” De Lesseps has also chosen to venture into new forms of entertainment, creating a program of sold-out cabaret shows entitled “#CountessAndFriends” at the Broadway venue Feinstein’s/54 Below, where she sings and hosts Broadway entertainers and TV stars along with Grammy-winning composer Billy Stritch. “Music keeps me smiling,” she says. With more upcoming performances and the return of RHONY, de Lesseps says, she’s been too busy to dwell on her April 13 appearance in court, where she faces possible jail time if convicted. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges: “There were a lot of rumors about that night. I’m looking forward for the court case to finally come, because I want the truth to come out.” Yet she’s not upset the arrest happened. “Unless I was humiliated publicly, I don’t think I would have done anything,” she says. “This was a warning. It was meant to happen so that I could take a step back and look at myself in a diferent way. I’m grateful to the universe for making me change my life.” • Channing Tatum& JennaDewan Tatum INSIDE THEIR SAD SPLIT Wed almost 9 years, the couple reveal they have ‘lovingly chosen to separate.’ How their marriage fell apart—and why they finally decided to end it By K A R A W A R N E R 50 April 16, 2018 PEOPLE T o most of the world they seemed as happy as ever: On March 18 Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum, shared photos from a weekend of family fun on Instagram—complete with face painting done by their “fairy artist” daughter Everly, 4. Then on March 24 Everly attended her first public event with her parents—the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, where she and her mom watched her dad get in a snowball fight with the audience. But in reality the couple whom fans watched fall in love onscreen in the hit 2006 dance movie Step Up were facing the end of their nearly nine-year marriage. “We have lovingly chosen to separate,” they announced in a joint statement to People on April 2. “We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on diferent paths for now. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another—we will remain a family and united parents to our daughter, Everly. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision—just two best friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.” The news came as a shock to fans for whom the Alabama-born star of END OF A ROMANCE “They really wanted to make their marriage work, but neither of them are people who will stay in something that isn’t fully right,” says a source of the couple (in 2016). But we’re not perfect! Are you kidding? We fight like other couples, we disagree about things, we have days where we don’t really like each other.” In comments that are perhaps even more telling, she added, “I feel that our society creates this really unnatural pressure on a married couple. . . . When asked how he juggled career and family, Tatum responded “not very well” in a 2015 interview withPeople.“There are times we had planned to take time of, but just like anything, things come up,” he said. “None of this is easy, but at the same time it’s everything I would have ever wanted to do.” A source noticed a significant change in recent months. “When Everly was younger, Channing and Jenna used to spend a lot of family time together,” the source says. “For the past year they seem to have spent less time together. Channing is often out of town, and when she’s not working, Jenna is a full-time mom and takes care of Everly’s daily schedule.” Lately Tatum has been hard at work on a slew of TV and film projects with producing partner Reid Carolin, while Dewan wrapped her second season hosting NBC’sWorld of Dance and launched a YouTube channel. “Jenna is a very involved mom,” adds the source. “Channing’s life seems more focused on work. They celebrated Dewan’s birthday in Mexico in December, but in February she stepped out solo at Vanity Fair’s annual Oscar party, an event they usually attended together. She told Entertainment Tonight that Tatum was home with Everly and “so happy to have a night of.” Their romance began in classic Hollywood style—when Tatum, who had once worked as a stripper, and Dewan, a trained dancer who had performed with Janet Jackson and Christina Aguilera, were cast opposite each other in Step Up and sparks flew. “I fell head over heels,” Tatum told People in 2012. “When I met him I kind of knew, I felt like I had known him before,” Dewan recalled to Health. “There was obviously an attraction, but I definitely was like, ‘No no no, we’re working BABY BUMP Tatum at the 2013 Oscars with a pregnant Dewan. He was “commended all the time,” says a coworker who asked not to be named. “He’s very smart, but he also has the social skills that a lot of scientists and doctors don’t have, frankly.” Cunningham’s last traceable activity was a phone call he made at 9:12 a.m. to his mother, Tia-Juana Cunningham, which she missed; he didn’t leave a message. She and his father, Terrell, appeared on NBC to implore their son to contact them—and seemed to suggest that something had been troubling him. “There [were] some work issues . . . areas in his life, at that time, that warranted parents keepingin touch and keeping tabs on their son,” Terrell said. Another inscrutable clue: The Saturday before he disappeared, Cunningham saw neighbor Chris Torry and “told me to take his number out of [my wife’s] phone,” Torry told the local WAGA station, a conversation police have confirmed occurred. Friends and family holding out hope for a benign explanation for Cunningham’s disappearance—his parents are ofering a $15,000 reward for locating him—keep coming back to Bo, alone in the house. “That dog was his whole world,” says neighbor Alison Lantana. “There’s nochance at all that Tim would leave Bo like this. But this year the London-born actress, 35, is taking on two of the biggest challenges of her charmed career. She worked for the first time with her husband of seven years, The Oice star John Krasinski, 38, in A Quiet Place, a gripping horror thriller (see review on page 35) that Krasinski directed. The real-life parents to Hazel, 4, and Violet, 21 months, play a couple trying to protect their children. “There were scenes that I found traumatic because it’s just so close to home for me,” says Blunt, who sits down with People’s editor-in-chief Jess Cagle in the latest episode of The Jess Cagle Interview. Then in December she stars in Mary Poppins Returns, a sequel to the 1964 classic. Here are excerpts from the interview, in which she opens up about her childhood, marriage and making Mary Poppins her own. Finding Her Calling Discovered in a school play, Blunt says she never had “a burning ambition” to become an actress: “It just happened to work out.” Emily Blunt on John, Meryl, Mary & More THE ACTRESS TALKS ABOUT STARRING WITH HUSBAND KRASINSKI IN A QUIET PLACE, HER MOVIE RIVALRY WITH STREEP AND HER UPCOMING TAKE ON THE BELOVED MARY POPPINS Photograph by KOURY ANGELO PEOPLE April 16, 2018 61 my family. I actually didn’t intend on being an actress. I wanted to be an interpreter for the U.N. Then I was 17, I was in a school play, and an agent came to see it. I kind of went, “Okay, I’ll give it a go.” I did relaxation things and some speech therapy. And then I had this fantastic teacher when I was 12, and he asked me to be in the class play. They just spent an awful lot of time together at the wedding talking about food. It was beautiful. Would you ever do a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada? I think if everybody did it I would be up for it. I almost hope it doesn’t, because I think some [people] want to sequel everything. It’s like it kind of dilutes how special the original is. What was the first meeting with John like? We were in a restaurant. I was sitting with a friend. We were discussing how much I was enjoying being single. And then she goes, “Oh, my God, there’s my friend John.” And that was it. It was joyous. Such an iconic actress played this iconic part ... but [director Rob Marshall] emboldens you in such a huge way to make everything your own. I had to do my version of her. My perception of her in the books was she’s batty. She’s hilarious and incredibly rude and vain. So it was really fun to be given that freedom. I was very inspired by His Girl Friday. She comes in like a tornado. When did you know he was the one? Disarmingly soon. We were engaged within 10 months. It’s also your third movie with Meryl Streep. How did parenthood change you? I know. Can she just get her own projects? I had not seen his version. I did a sort of cram-watching several seasons. I knew who he was . . . not terribly well. My children’s happiness is the paramount thing in my life. I’m perpetually in a state of distraction thinking about them. You’re just shifted forever. John directed A Quiet Place. He’s a really good director. How big a relief was that to you? Massively. I always knew that he’s so emotionally engaged, and he really understands how truth should come out in a scene. But I didn’t think he knew how to move the camera around. I was like, “Oh, my God, he’s really good!” You were off shooting Mary Poppins Returns. When did you decide, “I’m going to go do this movie about the apocalypse”? Well, I think I’ve just been too jolly and magical for too long. I just needed to go toward the darkness for a little bit. When John was approached about Quiet Place, I had just had our second child. I remember sitting there on the couch with our tiny newborn baby, and he said, “I just got sent this script.” I went, “You have to direct that movie. BACK EN VOGUE sic’s original After decades of ups and downs, mu w tune ging a ne Funky Divas are older, wiser and sin By J A N I N E R U B E N S T E I N From left: Cindy HerronBraggs, Rhona Bennett and Terry Ellis party like it’s 2018. 64 April 16, 2018 PEOPLE Photographs by ROBYN TWOMEY 27 years you’re still going to be performing with En Vogue,” I would have been like, “Shut up, no.” Nobody lasts long. Rhona, you’re the newest to the group, but you actually joined back in 2003. BENNETT I was a fan of the group before The Originals joining. [I remember] “Hold On.” Especially for the black community, that was our anthem. I’ve been on and of with the group for 14 years. When I flew up to the Bay to meet with Terry and Cindy, we just clicked. In the beginning Herron-Braggs, Robinson, Ellis and Jones (from left in the early ’90s) beat out thousands for a spot in En Vogue. What was it like back in 1988, auditioning to form a girl group with women you’d never met? ELLIS I came from Texas right out of In 1988 Cindy Herron-Braggs showed up to an audition in Oakland, highly doubting she’d get chosen for a new female singing act being formed but determined to try her luck anyway. “Honestly, I thought I’d just go to this audition and go back to L.A. and continue pursuing acting,” says HerronBraggs, 56. That return to L.A. took quite the detour when she became a member of En Vogue, the ’90s R&B group whose hits like “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)” earned them comparisons to the Supremes and turned Herron-Braggs, along with Terry Ellis, 54, and former original members Dawn Robinson and Maxine Jones into stars. Now Ellis and Herron-Braggs, joined by new member Rhona Bennett, 41, are back with Electric Café, the first En Vogue studio album in 14 years, and much has changed. Sitting down to reminisce 27 years after their diva dreams first came true, the singers reflect on decades of sisterhood, struggles and surviving stardom. TOP RIGHT: EVERETT It’s been almost 30 years since the band formed, and now your new single “Rocket” is on the Top 10. Is that surreal? ELLIS It feels like a big achieve- ment, you know? We’re so grateful and honored to have lasted this long. HERRON-BRAGGS I can’t believe how fast the time has flown. If you would have told me, “In college and moved to the Bay Area to be a part of the group, so it was really exciting for me. I was like, “Wow, I’m following my life’s dream.” The girls were great, the music was amazing, and the producers were awesome and respectful of women. HERRON-BRAGGS I had just moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. . . . I was pretty surprised when I found out that I was accepted to be a member. Max and Dawn and Terry became roommates. Max was braiding hair; Terry was working at a bank. It was cool being at the house, walking around barefoot, pulling braid hair from out of your toes. And there was always music blasting. ELLIS It was like a college dorm. I remember hearing “Hold On” on the radio. I lost it. We were just screaming and hollering. And many hits followed. But despite the success, fans were shocked when the group split up (Dawn left in 1997 and Maxine in 2001, both later blaming bad contracts and payment issues). HERRON-BRAGGS You know, R&B UPDATE With new album Electric Café just released, “We’re so happy that people are receiving it the way that they are,” says Herron-Braggs. I thought we had good deals. I thought we had fair deals. We made a good living. I had no problem with that. ELLIS That was never an issue for me. I think the misconception comes when artists say, “Oh, you’re going to be in the band; they’re going to take care of you.” I wasn’t expecting anyone to take care of me. We negotiated our deal, made a great living and had huge success. That was probably the toughest thing. It’s always been a balancing act, but I’ve been adamant about being there for the important things. With the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, this is a really important time for female empowerment. En Vogue was known for anthems like “Free Your Mind.” How does your new music fit in to this era? BENNETT I’m a personal life coach. I’m all about the inspiration and motivation of people. With the group, we all seem to resonate with empowerment and respect. ELLIS I see this as the perfect time, because that’s been our platform since day one, being women and speaking and singing about how important it is to be self-empowered, to honor and be true to yourself. We have a song on the new album called “So Serious,” and it’s about the role that a woman plays in a relationship and how instead of walking behind a man she should be walking beside him, because she’s just as powerful. Fame and fortune, especially in the music industry, can be hard on some, but after all these years you all still look and sound amazing. ELLIS When we’re home, we try to money is another story. Was it hard breaking up, after having been so close? HERRON-BRAGGS It was diicult. We had to decide if we were going to continue. ELLIS I would say that we got closer when Max and Dawn left. Where there was four, now there was two, and having to make the decision to carry on the brand, we basically became husband and wife. A lot of decisions had to be made. I was delivering an envelope to the woman who lived here, and when she opened the door of the elevator, I saw that terrace,” she says, pointing to her enviable outdoor space with views across Central Park. “I said, ‘Excuse me, ma’am, but if you ever sell this place, will you call me first?’ ” Corcoran says that the woman politely obliged and, she figured, promptly forgot her. “But what do you think happened 25 years later?” she asks with a gleeful grin. “I got rich. I sold my business. She knew who I was, and she called me first.” After negotiating the price down by millions—“She was dreaming,” Corcoran says of the original number—she closed the deal. “I feel like it really was destined for me,” she notes. “And it was a good real estate year, thank God.” The savvy investor spent two years renovating the place, flipping the upstairs and downstairs floor plans and transforming a historic greenhouse into her light-filled kitchen, before her family—husband Bill Higgins, a retired Navy captain and FBI agent, age 73, and their children Tom, 23, and Kate, 12—finally moved in a little over a year ago. Now, she says, there’s no place she’d rather be. “Even on rainy, dire, dismal days, this place is sunny,” she says. “It’s like living on 5 top of the world.” —MACKENZIE SCHMIDT PEOPLE April 16, 2018 83 SELF-TANNING THAT IS EFFORTLESSLY SUBLIME. By Jillian Ruffo pets ADVICE FROM A PRO How to Tackle Pet Allergies PEOPLE PET VET DR. EVAN ANTIN SHARES TIPS FOR ALLERGY SUFFERERS LOOKING TO ADOPT 1. Hypoallergenic isn’t allergy-free Some breeds of dogs and cats produce fewer allergens, but any pet has the potential to cause allergies. There’s no 100 percent hypoallergenic guarantee, because there’s always someone allergic to the skin or fur of a certain breed. 2. The breed can matter Poodles, Malteses and other dogs with hair instead of fur can cause fewer allergies in people. Russian blue, Balinese and Siberian cats produce less of the protein many are allergic to. 3. It’s not just about the fur Irritating pet allergens come from the flaky dander found on your pet. This dander comes from the fur, hair and skin cells that your pet sheds. 4. Grooming goes a long way Regular pet grooming appointments can help reduce the spread of allergens in your home. Keeping your pet’s fur and skin hydrated keeps allergies in check too. 5. Foster first Fostering a pet is a great way for those with allergies to explore their tolerance to the animal before making a serious commitment. 6. Seek out other mammals Rabbits can be a good option for pet lovers who are allergic to cats and dogs because they have different proteins in their fur. CAUSES OF ALLERGIES Pets can be allergic to plants, flea bites or ingredients in their food. They may need to go on an elimination diet to figure out the source. KNOW THE SIGNS Itchy skin is a common symptom for pets with allergies. Pets will often excessively lick and scratch their paws, rear or abdomen when they are irritated by allergies. HUMAN MEDS WORK Vets will often prescribe pets with allergies the same antihistamines—like Claritin, Benadryl and Zyrtec—that are given to human allergy sufferers. BY THE NUMBERS THE NATIONAL COFFEE ASSOCIATION BREAKS DOWN AMERICA’S LOVE FOR JAVA CONTROVERSY OVER CHEMICALS Does Coffee Really Cause Cancer? A CALIFORNIA JUDGE DEMANDS WARNING LABELS ON COFFEE, STIRRING NEW DEBATE OVER THE HEALTH RISKS—AND BENEFITS—OF AMERICA’S FAVORITE DRINK By JULIE MAZZIOTTA 90 suing the coffee industry and alleging that the levels of acrylamide—a chemical produced when coffee beans are roasted—in an average cup of coffee are potentially dangerous to consumers. Coffee producers—along with most doctors and researchers—strongly disagree, insisting that the amount of acrylamide poses no significant threat to consumers. “There’s some acrylamide in coffee, but we’re talking about very, very low levels—trace amounts,” says Dr. Geoffrey Kabat, a cancer epidemiologist at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In 2016 the World Health Organization removed coffee from its list of “possible carcinogens,” and the American Cancer Society says that “there —DR. GEOFFREY KABAT are currently no cancer types for which there is clearly an increased risk related to acrylamide intake.” Kabat also says there have been hundreds of scientific studies “and massive amounts of information” in the past 20 years demonstrating the health benefits from regular coffee consumption. And “what they’re all finding,” he adds, “is that either there’s no association between coffee and cancer, or coffee appears to be protective.” Nonetheless Judge Berle found that the 90 companies named in the lawsuit— including Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts and Peet’s—failed to prove their case against the effects of acrylamide. They have until April 10 to appeal, after which the final stage of the trial will determine civil penalties—where coffee shops could wind up paying up to $2,500 for every coffee drinker each day since the lawsuit was filed in 2010. “This benefits no one,” says Kabat. “It keeps people focused on the wrong things, and it provides no useful guidance for what people should do.” • $ 74.2 BILLION amount U.S. consumers spend on coffee annually. 36 82 percentage of coffee drinkers who buy their daily brew outside the home percentage of coffee drinkers who get their fix at breakfast CLOCKWISE FROM TOP LEFT: ROBERT ALEXANDER/GETTY IMAGES; VALENTYN VOLKOV/SHUTTERSTOCK; ISTOCKPHOTO/GETTY IMAGES COFFEE LOVERS HAVE enjoyed a pretty good run lately, with study after study touting the health benefits gained from a daily cup of joe—everything from lowering the risk of cardiovascular disease to warding off type 2 diabetes and Parkinson’s. That joyride came to a screeching halt recently when it was announced that California coffee shops—from Starbucks to the corner cafe— may soon be required to put up signs warning that coffee can increase the risk of cancer.
