Your eczema may be
hiding something.
You may think you know eczema, but what
you might not know is that it’s a term used to
describe a variety of skin conditions. The most
common form of eczema is actually a chronic
disease called atopic dermatitis.
You can see the signs of atopic dermatitis
on the surface, but a key underlying cause
remains hidden. Inflammation beneath the
skin can lead to the red, itchy rashes that
you try to manage, but just keep coming
back. This underlying inflammation is always
active, meaning your next flare-up is just
waiting to return.

A source says the
pair (at his Jan. 17
Amex listening
party in NYC) “are
both very kind and
honest people.”
Appearances, in this case, are
not deceiving. Together for 11 years
and married for five, Timberlake,
37, and Biel, 35, have had their fair
share of drama. Yet despite recurring breakup rumors and one actual
pre-engagement split in 2011, the
pair’s once-shaky union has grown
into a rock-solid romance — one
that, sources tell Us, keeps getting
better. “Jessica and Justin are true
best friends and that’s why they
work so well,” says a Biel insider.
“They love spending time together.
They don’t have to be doing much,
but they’re still laughing and having
a good time.”
In the relationship wringer of
Hollywood, that makes the parents
of 2-year-old son Silas unique. Even
after rumors of Timberlake indiscretions shook them in the past, the
couple have found time and again
that they’ve grown closer. “They’re
in a great place in their marriage,”
notes the insider. “They’ve had some
ups and downs. They’ve navigated
through having a baby and trying
to balance their careers, but seem
stronger than ever.” As the Sinner
actress explained to Marie Claire
last summer, it comes down to trust.
“We have similar values,” she said.
“We believe in loyalty, honesty.”
PARENTS AND PARTNERS
The pair’s similarities extend
beyond their moral compasses. As
With reporting by Brody Brown & Nicholas Hautman
Biel has admitted, “We like to have
fun.” Both L.A. Dodgers fans and
political activists, “they enjoy being
active and trying new things,” says
the insider. That includes plenty
of sports. “They’re always outside
playing golf together, going hiking
or snowboarding,” says the insider.
“She’s up for anything, and so is he.”
Their main shared interest, however, is their son. “They are obsessed
with him,” says a source close to the
pair. “They think being parents is
the best thing ever.” And the most
important. Since welcoming the tot
in April 2015, the power couple’s focus has turned from career to family.
(Even Timberlake’s new album title is
derived from the meaning of his son’s
name.) “Everybody tells you that your
life is going to change and you’re like,
‘Whatever, I got it,’ ” the singer said in
a recent interview with Beats 1’s Zane
Lowe. “My wife and I — when we
have a night off and we get into bed
or we sit down and watch a movie
or something, we’re like, ‘What did
we do before this? Did we go out to
dinner? Were we at a bar? What did
we do before this?’”
Whatever it was, those days are
long gone. Though L.A. remains
their home base, the couple spend
as much time as possible out of the
spotlight at their estate in Big Sky,
Montana’s tony Yellowstone Club.

Clarkson Square studios in New York City. There for his
Man of the Woods album listening party, the guest of honor
and his wife began slow dancing as the first notes of “Morning

“Jessica had her arms wrapped around him and he was whispering
in her ear,” shares a witness. “They kissed and their heads were
very close together. There was a lot of nuzzling.” The intimate moment wasn’t simply for show. “They were nearly inseparable and by
each other’s side all night,” says another reveler. “They kissed a few
times, but one kiss was extremely passionate. It was cute and they
appeared to be very in love and happy.”

Biel even stocked up on family
sweaters for their stay at the 15,200acre resort. “She chose a few items
that were similar for men and
women so that they could match,”
confides a pal. “She was excited
about the idea of them wearing
matching clothes.”
Cozy duds suit the duo’s current
vibe, after all. “They’re complete
homebodies since they had Silas and
they love it,” says the source. “They’re
very hands-on parents. Their life revolves around the house and being a
family.” Biel, who called motherhood
“the hardest job in the world” after
having Silas, has been pleasantly surprised by how much she’s settled into
the role, says the source: “She’s all
about nesting.” Though she co-runs

But the biggest evolution has

changed Justin,” we’re told. “He
loves being a dad and a family man
more than he ever thought.”

his infamous “wardrobe malfunction” with Janet Jackson at the

The “Filthy” singer says the “ultimate accomplishment” would be
for his 12-minute show to feel

the 10-time Grammy winner intends to bring a little sexy. While
there won’t be fireworks (a source

A BIGGER BROOD
Even as they prepare for Timberlake
to embark on his 35-date Man of the
Woods tour in March, the spouses
are eyeing a domestic future. “They
want to have more kids, for sure,”
says the source. As former child
stars, they share another preference,
too: that their offspring remain out
of show business. “I could teach him
a lot about what not to do,” Tennessee native Timberlake quipped last
year about the possibility that Silas
would want to act or sing. Indeed,
as people who “are close with each
other’s family and friends,” adds the
insider, “they have similar values
and want to raise their son in the
same way.”
And though Biel has found she
loves raising a boy, the parents
wouldn’t mind a change the next
time around. “They definitely want
a girl next,” shares the source. Then,
perhaps, another boy and another
girl — at least if dad gets his wish.
As the Grammy winner recently
admitted, “I want to have as many
•
kids as we can.”

JUSTIN’S AT THE
TOP OF HIS GAME
time to time, especially when the
“Filthy” singer is out on the road,
the couple still face rumors that he’s
gotten too close to another woman.
Whereas in the past Biel would remain suspicious, her trust has grown.
“She is ultrasupportive,” says the
insider. “She’s always there for him
but gives him the space he needs.”
For his part, Timberlake returns
the favor. “They have mutual respect
for each other’s career,” says the
insider. “He goes to her for advice
on everything.” After taking on a
number of projects over the past
year, the Golden Globe–nominated
actress has downtime now — and
knows exactly what she wants to do
with it, says the insider: “She’s looking

Her Surrogacy Details
Before the Wests could implant a fertilized egg in
the gestational carrier, there was a lengthy contract
to work out. The married San Diego resident, who didn’t
know the Wests’ identity at first, agreed to $45,000
paid out over 10 months to deliver the baby and waive
parental rights. (She would have received $5,000 more
per baby if the pregnancy yielded multiples!) And, of
course, she agreed to forgo alcohol, raw fish and multiple toxins. Postdelivery, says a source, “she’s back
home and doing remarkably well. But she’s exhausted.”

Arie invites all the women

source. “She calls him a

downstairs.” It proves to be
a winning strategy. Noticing her absence, “Arie gives
in and goes to find her,”
adds the insider. “Krystal
wants Arie to seek her out
in a crowd — she doesn’t
care what the other women
think of her.”
The argument only
leaves Luyendyk wanting
more. “He doesn’t want
to shy away from talking
about their problems as
a couple,” reveals the insider. “They butt heads but
they see that as something
that brings them closer.”
And his parents’ approval

SOUND THE ALARM
Luyendyk tells Us

With reporting by Carly Sloane
Watching Luyendyk
pursue the villain has
left the other contestants
questioning his intentions.
“The women think Krystal
is fake,” says the source.
“They don’t understand
why Arie continues to
give her a rose.” (On the
flip side, Nielson has
said her competitors are
“obnoxiously overbearing”
in their quest to catch
his eye.) And while they
try to warn Luyendyk, he
consistently turns a blind
eye to the drama. “I really
try to concentrate on my
time with said individual,”
Luyendyk told Us in December. “Popularity in the
house doesn’t really make
them a good life partner.”
But the disapproval
may mean something, too.
With a happily ever after
on the line, “Arie’s biggest
fear is that he’ll fall in love
and choose someone who
isn’t right for him,” says
the source. And Nielson’s
antics are telling. Adds the
insider, “He needs someone
he can count on, someone
he can be a team with. Arie

ON THE ROAD
Her Traveling Pad
1. Jennie Garth was born to ride. Growing up in
Illinois, her family was so committed to trips
in their RV, she tells us, “I don’t think we ever
went on an airplane.” So last year, the mom
of three sprang for her own Winnebago and
used Ikea and Bed, Bath & Beyond to upgrade
it on the cheap. To make the brown fiberglass
counters “girlier,” she says, “I covered them in
marble contact paper.” 2. Potted plants, notes
the actress, “make the kitchen feel homier.”
3. Though the space is “small,” she admits, “it
has everything you need!” — including an oven
the baking enthusiast, 45, uses to whip up
pies. To follow Garth’s RV adventures or plan
your own, visit GoRVing.com.

In a large saucepan, heat the oil
over medium heat. Add the cumin
seeds and cook until fragrant, about
30 seconds.
2 Add the onion and bell pepper and
cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 10 minutes.
3 Add the garlic and cook for about
1 minute, until it becomes aromatic.
Add the mushrooms. Cover and cook
until the mushrooms release their
liquid, about 5 minutes, lifting the lid
to stir a couple of times. Then cook
until the liquid released by the mushrooms has been absorbed, about 5
minutes more.
4 Add the tomato paste and cook for
1 minute. Stir in the chili powder and
chipotle chile and cook, stirring often,
until aromatic, adding a tiny bit of
water if the mixture starts to stick.
5 Add the vinegar, and stir to release
any bits stuck to the bottom of the
pan. Add the coffee, and cook until it
has been almost completely absorbed,
about 5 minutes. Add the cocoa powder, beans, whole tomatoes (crushing
them in with your hands) and their
juices, the salt and broth.
6 Bring to a simmer, then partially
cover, reduce the heat to low and cook
for about 11/2 hours, until the chili is a
bit thickened but still a little soupy.
7 Add the corn and cook until just
cooked through, about 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat and stir in the cilantro. If you’ve got a half hour to spare,
let the chili sit to further develop the
flavors and
thicken. Taste
and add more
salt and/or an
additional
splash of
vinegar and
serve with
your choice
of garnishes.

Maze Runner:
The Death Cure
Now the Gladers are fighting
WCKD to eradicate the Flare.
Confused? Then stop right here.
This uneven and unwieldy finale
to the trilogy is strictly for fans
who have journeyed this far and
need closure. Done and done.
In the dystopian future, our
brooding hero, Thomas (Dylan
O’Brien), and his cohorts race
to infiltrate The Last City. That’s
where his onetime ally, Teresa
(Kaya Scodelario), is drawing
serums from his friend in hopes
that she’ll isolate a cure for the
fatal zombie virus. But unlike
the original movie, in which they
tried to find a way out, here they
need to get creative to find a
way in. There will be gunslinging
violence, familiar faces and big
speeches about humanity —
little of which justifies a tedious
142-minute run time. So much
for being in a hurry.

FRIDAY 1/26
Please Stand By
Hello, Trekkies: This one’s for
you. An autistic woman (Dakota
Fanning) is fixated on a Star
Trek script-writing contest. To
ensure her 500-page opus gets to
Paramount Pictures HQ on time,
she boldly goes on a bus from her
caregiving center to Hollywood.
Will she live long and prosper?
It’s highly logical, given that the
high-concept indie road trip/
sci-fi/fandom/character dramedy
follows a predictable flow. Still,
this film will surely be the only one
of 2018 in which Patton Oswalt
sweetly communicates to Fanning
in Klingon.
MR
FRIDAY 1/26
The Clapper
Ed Helms plays a sad sack who makes
a living by applauding in the audience
during live tapings of infomercials.
And that’s the gist of a lightly
drawn, slightly charming and utterly
forgettable comedy. The actual plot
kicks in when he becomes the punch
line in a late-night talk show segment.
(“Look at the silly guy clapping in all
the same shows!”) His subsequent
evolution into an unwilling viral sensation alienates him from his mousy
new crush (Amanda Seyfried). While
it’s nice to see funny favorites such as
Tracy Morgan, Leah Remini and the
late Alan Thicke onscreen, they have
little to do here. Clap on, clap off. MR

between takes of the true-to-life miniseries, which follows the deadly 1993
standoff between Koresh’s sect and the
FBI. Adds Benoist, “He always had a
Bible with him or was asking where it
went.” The Supergirl star, 29, lets Us in.
Q: How did you research the role?
There’s not much content about
Rachel. She’s in a lot of pictures with
David, so I would stare at those. But
I had a lot of blanks to fill in. David
Thibodeau, who was one of the nine
survivors, was on set almost every
day. He told me Rachel was queen bee.
At 14 she was plucked from obscurity
by Koresh in the middle of the night
and left in pajamas to marry him.
Q: The material can be violent and
jarring. Ever feel upset?
The scenes were horribly overwhelming
and hard to walk
away from. So
when we did them,
we lifted each other
up. It was very hard
to grapple with.
Q: Nice to have a
make-under?
I saw Rachel as
a mother and
not fussy. So I
was in hair and
makeup maybe 10
minutes a day. It was
liberating!

Paper plays a starring role in the creative process, from the initial

the ultimate achievement comes down to a single piece of paper—
