1 Claim. (Cl. 229-43)
This invention relates to receptacles construct
ed of light weight, inexpensive sheet material and
5
outer plies l6 and II, respectively which have
has particular reference to a receptacle of the
longitudinally extending rearwardly directed ?aps
said character having a sliding closure preferably
Is at the lateral side edges thereof which overlie
of a rigid type and with means for guiding the
same during the opening and closing movements
thereof.
The invention provides a receptacle of the said
10 character which is so constructed and arranged
as to insure a sealing engagement with the
closure thereof when the same is in closed con
such as the fastening elements IS.
The said plies l6 and ll of the front wall l3
are provided with
10
dition so as to preclude the entrance into the
receptacle of insects, dust and other agencies in
jurious to articles stored therein.
The invention further comprehends a recepta
portion framing the openings in the plies l6 and
H. The openings 20 in the said plies l6 and 11 15
provide a mouth for admitting to or removing ar
ticles from the container. A closure panel 2|,
closure in closed condition.
20
The invention more speci?cally embodies a
hollow body structure including a rear wall, for
tudinal edges thereof, the plies
thereof extending beyond the edges of the mouth
or openings and between and overlapped by the
framing portions of the plies l6 and IT. The se
curement of the plies l6 and I‘! to the side walls
vided with registering openings de?ning a mouth
for admitting to and removing articles from the
hollow body structure, "together with a closure II and I2 is such as to tension
30 panel slidable between the said plies into and out
of closing relation with the said mouth.
30
With the foregoing and other objects in view,
reference is now made to the following speci?ca
tion and accompanying drawing in which there
35 is illustrated the preferred embodiment of the
posite end edges of the plies
invention, while the appended claim covers modi
?cations and variations thereof which fall within end walls and the space between the plies of the
front wall.

Referring to the drawing by characters of ref
erence, the receptacle is preferably constructed
of light weight, inexpensive sheet material such
as corrugated cardboard, paperboard and the like,
and includes a rear wall l0, oppositely disposed
side walls II and I2, a front wall l3 and opposite
end walls I 4 and IS. The front wall. I3 is of
double ply construction comprising inner and

forward free edges thereof, and top and bottom
walls, the plies of said front wall having register
ing openings de?ning a mouth for admitting to
and removing articles from the hollow body struc
ture, the edges of said openingsbeing spaced from
the edges of the plies of the‘ front wall to provide
wall portions framing the said openings and a
closure panel disposed between the said plies of
the front wall and slidable therebetween into
and out of closing relation with the said mouth,
with the marginal edges of the panel overlapped
by the said framing-portions to seal the same
when in closed relation with the mouth and said
plies of the front wall being compressed in close
relation at the lateral side edges thereof so as to
tension the mouth-framing portions of the plies
to trictionally retain the closure in shifted posi
tion.
