Application June 12, 1935, Serial No. 26,121
5 Claims.
This invention relates to store iixtures and the
object of the invention is to provide an arrange
ment whereby a store ñxture may be built up in
a series of sections to which different sections
may be added or taken away as desired.
Another object of the invention is to provide a
store lixture of the cabinet type having a series
of sections connected together by a molding to
which diiïerent parts may be anchored.
Another object of the invention is tol provide a
store iixture provided with sliding doors and hav
ing ways for the doors anchored to the molding,
the arrangement being such that the doors may
be readily positioned in or removed from the
15 ways.
A further object of the invention is to provide
a store ñxture comprising a cabinet combined
with a novel means for securing the molding in
in place by the screw I3 and a iinish strip I4 is
secured to the edge of the member 3 while a filler
strip I 5 is positioned between the member I4 and
the double channel member I2. As shown in
Figs. 2 and 7, a series of rollers I6 are provided 5
in the lower double channel member and are con
nected by side plates I'I.
The door panels are inserted by inserting the
rear panel I8 shown in Fig. 2 up into` the double
channel 8 and then fitting the lower edge of the I0
panel I8 into the channel I2 so that the door
panel rests on the rollers I6. The other panel
I9 shown in Fig. 4 is inserted in position in the
same manner. These panels I8 and I9, as shown
in Fig. 1, may be provided with hand grips 29 I5
so that the panels may be moved longitudinally
in the guide members. The outer edge of the
horizontal member ‘I extends beyond the edge of
the member 6 and a trim member 2I is se
These objects and the several novel features of
the invention are hereinafter more fully de
cured to this edge by the screw 22 shown in Figs. 20
2 and 4. A surface member 23 is` positioned on
the upper face of the member 1 and is provided
with an upturned ñ‘ange 24 at a distance from
the edge. A double channel member 25 is secured
scribed and claimed and the preferred form of
construction by which these objects are attained
is shown in the accompanying drawings in

The fixture comprises a base I having a rubber
tile facing 2 on the forward face. Mounted on
the base I is a horizontal frame member 3 and a
g5 rear wall member 4 is provided having spaced
frame members 5 connecting the horizontal
member 3 with the upper horizontal member 6.
The horizontal frame member 'I of the upper fix
ture section is positioned on the member 6 and a
50 double guide member 8 is secured to the member
'I by the screw 9 shown more particularly in Fig.
5. This double guide member is provided with
a rib I6 and the member 6 is cut out at II to i’it
about this rib. A similar double guide member
55 I2 is provided on the member 3 and is secured
molding member 32 in position against the outer
edge of the partition 29.
This same construction is duplicated at the top
of the store ñxture in which a similar channel is
attached to the horizontal top 35 and the mold
ing 32 is secured in place in the manner shown
in Fig. 3. On the upper side of the member 35 45
a series of short key members 36 are fitted into
the channel 31 of the molding and the screws 38
extend through these key members 36 to hold
them in place and thus hold the molding in place.
Where an additional section is to be mounted 50
thereabove, a double channel member 39 is pro
vided having a rib fitting into the channel 3'I in
the molding member 32 as sho-wn in Fig. 2 and
the sliding panels are ñtted into the upper and
lower double channel members as hereinbefore 55
Where the ends of the molding 32

a connecting member 40 is provided which, as
shown in Figs. 1 and 3, is secured to the molding
32 by the screws 4|. This covers the ends of the
molding and provides a neat appearance as Will

The sliding panels
may be of glass or laminated Wood to slide in the
double channels and are provided with hand

In the form shown in Fig. 5, a base 42 is pro
vided having a, rubber tile facing 43 on the ex

15 which is also provided with glass walls 45 and a
glass top 46. In this form, the double channels
41 and 48 are secured in position and the glass
panels 49 and 50 are slidably mounted in these
channels to roll on the rollers I6 provided in the
base, similar members secured to the upper and
lower faces of the partition at its edge and a sim
ilar member secured to the lower'face of the top
at its edge, the channel members on the partition 15
and the top each having a projecting rib, and a
molding at the edge of the partition and another
molding at the top having channels to receive
the respective ribs, the channels of the molding
lower channels.
In this case, the sliding panels 49 and 50 are
provided at the back of the cabinet and the trim
molding 32 is secured to the member 44 by the
having undercut edges and the said projecting 20
ribs of the channel members ñtting therein to
prevent lateral displacement of the molding in
