Korolick, Bath, Maine Application April 21, 1937, Serial No. 138,126 y 1 Claim. ’I'his invention relates to new and useful im provements in trousers. The invention contemplates' the provision of a pair of trousers in the form of ski pants, snow suit 5 pants,- or any other type of pants, particularly adapted for use by a child, although this inven tion may also be applied to trousersworn by an adult. A Still further the invention proposes the use of fastener elements which extend the entire length of the side seam- of a pair of trousers and which may be lowered to a position in which these side (Cl. 2-228) Fig. 3 is a view similar to Fig. 2 but showing a still further modified form of the invention. _ _ Fig. 4 is a view similar to Fig. 1 showing a still further embodiment of the invention. Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the belt per sel which is to be used in connection with the trousers shown in Fig. 4. . ' Fig. 6 is an enlarged sectional view'taken on the line 6--6 of Fig. 4. ' ’ . The removable trouser, according to this inven tion,. comprises material in the form of a pair of trousers I0 having a body portion IIIa with- -' seams will be entirely open to permit the trousers - front and rear sections IIlb, a crotch portion IIJc . to be easily engaged or removed from one’s body. As another object of the invention it is pro posed to have the fastener elements so positioned> that by lowering them to a position just below the 15 hips the front or back portion-of the trousers may be lowered. 20 25 _ 30 35 40 f and leg portions 10d. The sides of the trousers I0 are opened from the top of the body portion 15 II)a to the bottom of the leg portions Illd andare formed with slide fasteners II for releasably closing these open sides. A Lastex or knitted cuff I2 is formed on the lower end of the leg Still further the invention provides for a Lastex . portions IIJd and has the side opening extending therethrough. . ~ -. or knitted material cuff to be applied to the bot 'I'he slide fastener II is of the non-separating tom of the leg portions of the trousers and which are adapted to be opened and closed by the same type and passes through the cuil.’ I2 and termi slide fasteners which close the sections of the nates in a cloth binding I3 which is applied to the bottom portions of the cuii I2. AThe purpose trouser proper. . ` of adding this binding I3 which is of cloth or Still further the invention proposes to So con struct the trousers for use in connection with a other non-stretchable material is to permit the cuff portions I2 to be separated in the open condi non-separating or separating slide fastener, de tion of the side openings to permi.. these cuff pending upon the use to which the garment is to bel put. If a- non-separating slide fastener is portions to be easily slid over one’s shoes. , A half belt I4 is removably secured at its ends used a cloth strip is added to the bottom of the Aby a button and button hole construction iéif» Lastex or knitted-cuff for the purpose of permit ting the slide fastener to extend entirely through upon the top corners of one of the sections IIJb the La_stex or knitted cuff to permit the trousers so that this section may be retained raised while the other section IIlb‘is lowered. The latter sec to be easily slipped over one’s shoes. As a. still further object of the invention it is tion I 0b is also provided with buttons I4a to receive the half belt I4 when removed from the proposed to provide independent fastening ele ments between the top edge of the trousers and a other section Ilib, and then the belt in its new separate belt which is adapted to engage around position, supports the connected section I0", while one’s body for the purpose of permitting one the other section II)b may be lowered. section to be lowered while the other section isA ' In Fig. l the half belt I4 is shown applied to the front section IIlb permitting the rear section being supported upon the belt. For further comprehension of the invention, II'Ib to be easily lowered. 'I'he half belt I4 may be applied to the rea-r section IIlb permitting the and of the objects and advantages thereof, refer ' ence will be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, and to the ' appended claim in which the various novel features vof the invention are more particularly set forth; In the accompanying drawing forming a mate 50 rial part of this disclosure: Fig. 1 is a perspective View of a pair of trousers constructed according to this invention. Fig.’2 is a fragmentary detailed view of a' por .ftion of Fig. 1 showing a modified form of tlv.: in vention. front section II)b to be lowered. ' 20 25 30 40 45 The operation of this form of the invention is as folowsz- _ The control slide of the slide fastener II is moved to its lowered position and one’s feet are passed through the leg portions I 0d, the cuiî 50 portions I2 and the binding material I3 and the front section I0b of the body portion Illa is drawn over the (front portion ‘of one’s body and the half beltA I4 is positioned around one’s body to ñxedly hold the front section Ißb in- position. The slides 55 2 2,132,11'ï of the fasteners Il are then raised to their top most position to draw the rear section mi’ into position with relation to the front section ith and the half belt Il. When itis desired to drop the back of these sections it is merely neces sary to move the slide fastener to e. position in which it is immedisteiy below the hips of one’s -bodiî permitting the section to move tothe low-A ered position shown in Fig. 1. The hslf beit it may be switched to the rear section Wb, esA _previously expieined, and then the front section ißb may be droppedo .~ In the modification ‘shown in Fig. 2 the “Zip per” it' is of the separating type end termi 15 nates et the end portion of the Lester: cuiî i2 making it unnecessary to apply the binding me, teriai to the bottoni of the cuits i2 es shown in Fig. i. In other respects this form of the in vention is similar to the one shovm in Fig. l and corresponding peri-s may be identified by corresponding reference numerals, _ In the modification shown in Fig. 3 the “Zip- per”` it“ is of the sepereting typ-e Aand terminates at the bottom of the ieg portions idd of the 25 trousers te. ¿i cioth con iii’ is applied tothe ^ bottom of the leg portions idd end has one of its ends i2“ provided with a buckle l5. The other end iîb of the cloth cuñ I2’ is reduced in width so as -to permit it to be engaged with the buckle I5 to close the cuiî I2’ when the “Zipper" Il“ closes the side opening in the trou sers Hl. In other respects this form of the ln vention'is similar to the preceding ones, and similar parts may be identiñed by the corre= 35 sponding reference numerals.' l , In the form o'f the invention illustrated in Figs. ' 4_6, the construction is the same as that shown inl Fig. 1 except for the fact that a’belt 20 is provided at one of its ends 28B' with a buckle 2l. Y , . tener elements 24 mounted on the inside face of the top portion ci the front and rear sec tions ith of the trousers i@ to heid one of the sections in position upon cne’s body while the other section is in its lowered position. The operation of this form or” the device is the same as that shovm in Fig. 1 excepting that when it is desired to lower either of the sec tions iûb itis necessary to move the slide lfes tener i! to a position immediately below the hips, KG and then disengaging the snep fastener 24 from the complementary snep fasteners '23 upon the belt ‘2t and iowering either of these sections 'to the position illust-rested by the dot and dash iines iti' in Fig. 4;.
