This invention relates to an improved tipping
with the winding of an electromagnet and so
mechanism to be used in conjunction with con-

The tipper is also provided with a contact ñn
ger which rests against the traveling web of
wrapping material while the same is continuously
fed. When the web of wrapping material breaks
or is exhausted, the finger makes contact with a l5
roller through which its connections energize the
electromagnetic circuit which controls the clutch
operating means. In this manner the feeding of
the tobacco is stopped in the cigarette machines
and wasting of tobacco avoided.

The paste pot 4i is provided with a scraœr or
