The present invention relates to elastic ?uid
power plants, especially to the arrangement of
the auxiliaries of portable plants as are used on

/During starting, the clutch I2 is engaged to
cause operation of the. pumps 23, 29 and of the
blower 21 and thereby‘ to supply fuel and air to
the burner 26 and lubricant or actuating ?uid to
the bearings and servo motors. Thereafter, or 26
if desired, simultaneously the clutch 4| is en
gaged to cause operation of the Dumps l1, I9, 20
and thereby to supply water to the boiler. As
soon as the combustion has su?iciently developed
to drive the gas turbine '35, 36. the clutch I2 is so.
disengaged~ and ?nally upon operation of the
turbine III the clutch ll is disengaged.

‘The other auxiliaries are driven by the exhaust
gas turbine because their operation depends pri
marily upon the load on the boiler. Further
more, the other auxiliaries including the pump 23
and the blower 21 are to be operated at ?rst dur
ing the heating of the boiler. It is also for this
reason more ‘advantageous if they are driven by
an engine, in the present instance, the gas tur
bine, which is ready for operation before the
turbine I0 is operated.

What I claim as new and desire to secure by

1. Elastic ?uid power plant including the com
\ bination of a prime mover, a boiler for producing
elastic ?uid to vactuate the prime mover, auxil
- iaries including pumping means for ‘forcing oper
ating liquid into'the boiler and'other pumping
means for forcing air and fuel into the boiler,
said auxiliaries forming two groups, means in
cluding the prime-mover for driving-one of said
groups, means including a gas turbine receiving
relatively small drive motor.

group of other auxiliaries, drive means for nor
mally operating the two groups, and means
