My invention relates to a pipe ?tting and more
particularly to a ?tting which may be inserted
between the ends of two ?anged pipes for the

Heretofore, when it has been desired to connect a branch to an existing pipe line, it has
been necessary to cut out a section of the pipe

Should it be desired later to remove the branch
pipe, this may he done by removing the bolts 25
and the disc 55 and then bolting the ?anges ll 30

to its Original condition

1. A?tting for insertion between the ?anges in
a pipe line and serving for the in?ow or out?ow

clamping bolts extending parallel to the axis of

securing a branch pipe to said manifold radially

3. A ?tting for insertion between the ?anges
in a pipe line and serving for the in?ow or out
15 ?ow of part of the ?uid in the pipe line includ
ing a disc of greater external diameter than the
?anges and having an inner opening for the main
stream, a manifold secured to the outer edge of
the disc radially beyond the ?anges, said manifold
20 being thicker than said disc, said disc being
formed with a plurality of radially extending pas
sages establishing communication between said
inner opening and said manifold, and means for
connecting a branch pipe to said manifold, the
diameter of said branch pipe being greater than
the thickness of said disc.
4. A ?tting for insertion between the ?anges
in a pipe line and serving for the in?ow or out
flow of part of the ?uid in the pipe line including
a disc of greater external diameter than the
?anges and having an inner opening for the main 1O
stream, a manifold secured to the outer edge of
the disc radially beyond the ?anges, said mani
fold extending not more than half-way around
said disc and being thicker than said disc, said
disc being formed with a plurality of radially ex 15
tending passages establishing communication be
tween said inner opening and said manifold, and
means for securing a branch pipe to said mani
fold radially beyond said ?anges.
