1 Claim. (Cl. 144-1-303)
drawing, and will not cause dents to appear in
the board when the same is under compression.
Each of these shoes I2 and I3 has divergent off
set wings, as shown at I4 and I6 respectively,
which wings are beveled, as shown at I5 and I'I
clamping devices.
The principal object of this invention is to pro
vide an adjustable clamp for use with the cus
l tomary clamping bars.
A further object is to produce a clamp which
may be re-sharpened from time to time so as
to form the biting edges.
A further object is to produce a device of this
character which may be used with any desired
width of clamping bar.
A still further object is to produce a device
which has a large bearing surface against the
respectively, so as to provide biting edges against
the bars 5 and 6. The shoe I2 is provided with>
a slot I8, in which is pivoted a threaded member
'lo I9, which threaded member, in turn, threadedly
engages a bore for-med in the shoe I3.
As a result of this construction the shoes I2
and I3 may be rotated with respect to each other,
and through the threaded arrangement, the bit
material being clamped.
ing edges I5 and I‘I. may be adjusted toward or
away from each other, to accommodate the thick
ness of the bars being used. Also, this threaded
arrangement permits the beveled edges to be
`ground or re-sharpened from time to time, thus
Other objects and advantages will be apparent
during the course of the following description.
