Another object of the invention is the provi
sion of a device of this character, wherein through
the rotation of a disk or other rotor, the picking
protuberances being disposed thereon in a man
ner, will positively draw the threads in switch
formation, so that the parts of a shoe to be clean
thereof either before or after separation of the
parts and this is effected with ease and dispatch.
Another object of the invention is the provi~
sion of a device of this character, wherein on
the severing of the stitches, the latter will be
drawn out of the material and picked from a shoe
automatically, thereby relieving hand activity for
this purpose through the use of a hand tool.
A further object of the invention is the pro
vision of a device of this character, which is sim
ple in construction, thoroughly reliable and e?i
cient in operation, strong, durable, power driven,
readily and easily applied in position and re
moved, constructed for convenient handling and
sponding parts throughout the several views in
the drawings.
Referring to the drawings in detail, the device
constituting the present invention is very com
pact, and comprises essentially a ?at substan
tially circular ring-like work engaging member
I 0, having a center clearance for accommodating
an annular shoulder II, providing a seat I2 con
centric thereto countersunk in a sleeve-like hub
I3, which is adapted to be keyed or otherwise
made fast on the reduced terminal I4 of a ro
tating arbor I5, only a portion thereof being
I shown in Figures 1, 2 and 3 of the drawings.
The terminal I4 is formed with a key lug I6,
which is engaged in a spiral way Il, provided in
the clearance in the hub for such terminal, and
the said hub is formed with an entrance throat
30 I8 for the lug I6, so that in this manner the hub
can be detach-ably secured fast on the arbor.
The member I0 concentrically of the center
