ROPE-JUMPING TOY
Ossie K. Ramey, Columbus, Ohio
Application May 31, 1945, Serial No. 596,827
2 Claims. (Cl. 46—129)
1
This invention relates to toys, and has partic
ular reference to a toy in which a pendant ?gure
is caused to appear to jump a turning wire or
rope.
The object of the invention is to provide a
mechanical toy of this character in which the illu
sion of rope jumping is realistically reproduced,
and wherein the toy is of simple mechanical con
struction, not likely to become out of order and
capable of being extensively used.
For a further understanding of the inven
tion, reference is to be had to the following
description and the accompanying drawing,
wherein:
,
Fig. 1 is a front elevational view of a rope
skipping toy formed in accordance with the pres
ent invention;
2
spect to the axis of rotation A of the arms 3 of
the rope-turning ?gures. Therefore, as the mem
ber ‘I revolves, the ?gure II will be raised and
lowered sothat when the rope member passes
beneath the feet of the ?gure II, the latter will
occupy the elevated position disclosed in Fig. 1,
allowing the rope member to clear the feet of
the jumping ?gure.
My improved jumping toy can be manufactured
10 at a comparatively small expense and is capable
of giving considerable amusement to children in
asmuch as they can operate it themselves and
watch the movement of the toy ?gure apparently
jumping a skipping rope. The simplicity of the
15 construction and the advantages thereof will be
apparent to those skilled in the art and therefore
a more detailed explanation has been accordingly
'
omitted.

the appearance of a rope, the arrangement be

the action of the motor 6, the rope member is
