This invention relates to labels, tags and like
devices commonly used for attaching to articles
during transport or storage. As presently used,
rected loose ?ap is provided adjacent and in
a label or tag consists of a small piece of sheet
material having a hole at one end by which it
is adapted to be attached to the article by a short
length of flexible material such as string, wire,
tape or the like.
This invention is in fact a continuation in
part of my earlier invention covered by my patent 10
application Serial No. 419,542 which consists in
the combination with a label or tag, ‘of a recep
tacle in the form of a transparent walled pocket
or sac for accommodating a sample of the con
device is adapted to be attached. More particu
larly one of the two side walls forming the afore
said pocket or sac is formed by a piece of opaque
or partly of thin ?exible transparent sheet ma
terial, is secured to said label part around its
member for automatically closing said mouth
opening.
~
The present invention is in fact an improve
ment in or development of this earlier invention.
One disadvantage of the device forming the sub
ject matter of this prior application, is that ac
cess to the pocket can only be had by loosening
or detaching the string or like fastening means
passing through the holes in the lips of the mouth
opening thereof.
tents of a container, such as a bag, to which the 15
sheet material constituting the label part, while
the opposing side wall consisting either wholly
side of the mouth opening, and is so arranged that
it acts in the nature of a non-return valve
.' 20
According to the present invention a combina
tion label device of the kind described, is char
acterised in thataccess to the pocket space with
out loosening or detaching the securing means,
is obtained by way of a slit opening provided by
leaving unattached an end portion of one of the
two side walls enclosing said pocket space.
To enable the invention to be more clearly un
derstood and carried into practice, reference is
now made to the accompanying drawing in
peripheral edges except for a mouth opening at
one end, which is adapted to be held closed by
a length of ?exible material threaded through 25 which like references denote like parts through
