As the coil expands on the mandrel 1, the rolls 2a, 2b,
2c, and 2d are forced radially outward away from the
axis of the mandrel, swinging the arms 5 about the axes
of the spindles 6a, 6b, 6c, and 6d and working against the

running‘on the coil and during movement thereof towards
`the coil, and operative to exert pressure in the other direc
tion on said wrapper roll during withdrawal from the
