BUSINESS OF ART & INTERACTIVE MEDIA LESSON
2014 A
AIM: To Create “APP” icons
and “SCREEN-SHOTS” based
on your SCHOOL SCHEDULE.
TECHNOLOGY LESSON 2014 A
Since SMART PHONES have been part of our
lives, USERS have been able to add new
options to their phone by adding applications.
Developers are encouraged to submit their
own APPS to the store. It has become the
widest avenue for development, easier than
publishing a book or marketing a film etc.
TECHNOLOGY LESSON 2014 A
For this assignment, please create an APP and
a screenshot for the APPLICATION for each
subject listed on your SCHOOL SCHEDULE.
For the first part of this assignment, we will
create the ICON for the APP, since it is not so
different from the SPRITES we created in the
last unit.
TECHNOLOGY LESSON 2014 A
The second part, however, is to create
simulated screen-shots to emulate how these
apps will work on a mobile device.
A screen-shot is self-explanatory. It is a capture
of the current screen on a mobile device. The
user uses a combination of buttons or 3rd party
apps to grab screenshots when needed.
TECHNOLOGY LESSON 2014 A
As the screen sizes of smart phones begin to
increase in size, their resolution does as well.
The DPI or PPI (dots per inch, pixels per inch)
can determine how clear a phone’s display will
be, based off of how big the number is in
proportion with the screen size. For example,
the iPhone 5 has a 4-inch screen with a 326
ppi, which is a relatively clear display.
Requirements for Screenshot
Aspect Ratio of iPhone 5: 1136x640, 326 dpi
OR
Samsung Galaxy S4: 1080x1920, 441 dpi.
ONE screenshot of each app emulating the
general function of the app.
Examples
iPhone 5
Galaxy S4
