How to Make a Multimedia Poster (Glog) using Glogster
Go to the SHS Library’s Website, click on the Multimedia icon, and select Glogster –or– go to
http://edu.Glogster.com/
Login. Note: Your Nickname is your FirstnameLastinitialspac (e.g., MarthaLspac) and your Password is
your computer password (5 numbers followed by spac).
Click on Create New Glog (To edit one you’ve already created, scroll down to Your Glogs and click on
it).
Change the Glog name
To remove any elements on the template click on
the element and then click on the trashcan icon
Use the magnet tools to add elements to your Glog
Graphics –add clipart
Text – write (note all of the text will be the
same size so if you want to add a
larger title you’ll have to add an
additional text box
Image – upload a photo or other type of image
Video – upload a video, link to a YouTube video, or use a webcam to record yourself
Sound – upload a sound or music file, link to a sound file, website record yourself by clicking on grab
Data – attach a data file
Draw – draw a picture using the drawing tool
Wall – change the background
WALL
Change the background - click on WALL on the magnet tool.
You can modify both the Glog Wall (the poster) and
the Page Wall (behind the poster) by clicking on the
tabs
Select a category
Explore the pages of designs
Click on the one you like
Click on “USE IT!”
TEXT
Add Text – Click on TEXT on the magnet tool.
Select the type of text desired
(choose stickers to write a paragraph,
titles to add a title or Bubbles to add
a speech bubble).

Click on the one you like
Click on “USE IT!”

Select the text box.
You may edit it, move it forward, move it back, clone it, cancel changes, or delete it.
Change the size
of the text box
by dragging any
of the corner
arrows.
Change the direction of the
item using any of the
rotational arrows.
When you select Edit you can change the graphics color, add a link, edit text font & color, or add effects.
Click OK when done editing.
IMAGE
Use the “Image” button from the
toolbox to upload photos or pictures.
Click the “UPLOAD” button and
browse the files on your
network folder or flash drive.
Select the image you want.
Click “OPEN.” Your photos will
be added to your online
Glogster library.
Click on the image in your library
(You may hold down the SHIFT
key to select multiple images at
once).
Add a frame around the image if
desired by clicking on “ADD A
FRAME.” Select a frame.
Click on “USE IT!”
Note: The following types of image files may be
uploaded: jpg, .jpe, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, .tif, .tiff,
.png, .pcx, .wmf, .tga, .psd, .crw, .cr2, .nef, .orf,
.raf, .dng, .mrw, .pef
Linked images must contain a url ending in .jpg,
.png, .bmp, .gif

VIDEO
Use the “Video” button from the magnetic
toolbox to upload, link, or create videos.
Note: The following types of video files may be
uploaded: .asf, .avi, .m2v, .mpeg, .mpg, .nsv,
.wmv, .mp4, .flv, .mov, .m4v
Linked video must have a url ending in .flv
(+YouTube URL)
SOUND
To Upload a Video Saved on Your Computer:
Click “UPLOAD” and browse to the video
file. Select it and click “Open.”
To Link to a video on the web (such as YouTube):
Click “LINK.” The link screen will open
and allow you to type or paste the URL for
the video into the blank.
Click “ADD TO YOUR FILES” and the video
will be uploaded (You will not be able to
watch the video in the edit mode).
You may also add a PLAYER to your video clip by
clicking on ADD A PLAYER, selecting a player,
then clicking on USE IT!
If you click on the player, and then select EDIT,
this tool bar will appear :
Click on the gear icon if you want to change the
setting for autoplay. When the autoplay box is
checked your video will start automatically
whenever your Glog is opened.
You may also GRAB (create) a video of yourself
using your webcam by selecting GRAB.
Use the “Sound” button from the magnetic toolbox to
upload, link, or create sound files (such as music or other
audio file).
To Upload a Sound File Saved on Your Computer
Click “UPLOAD” and browse to the sound file. Select
it and click “Open.”
To Link to a sound file on the web:
Click “LINK.” The link screen will open and allow you
to type or paste the URL for the .mp3 into the blank.
Click “ADD TO YOUR FILES” and the sound file will be
uploaded. (You will not be able to listen to the sound
file in the edit mode.)
(You will not be able to listen to the Sound in the edit mode.)
You can also add a PLAYER to your Sound clip by clicking on
“ADD A PLAYER,” selecting a player, then clicking on USE IT!
If you click on the player, and then the EDIT box for the
player, this tool bar will appear:
Click on the gear icon if you want to change the setting for
autoplay, when the autoplay box is checked your Sound will
start automatically when your Glog is opened.
You may also GRAB (record sound) by clicking on the GRAB
button.

uploaded: .aac, .aiff, .m4a, .mp1, .mp2,
.mp3, .ogg, .raw, .wav, .wma

DATA (attach files to Glog)
Use the “DATA” button from the magnetic toolbox to
add attachments to your Glog.
Next click on the “Upload” button and you will be
directed to your computer files.
Select the document that you want to upload and
double click it. The document will now appear in your
Data library.
Click on the document that you want to attach and
Click on “Use It.” You will see a new window that reads,
“File added as attachment to this Glog.”
Select “OK,” and a small paper clip will appear in the
bottom right corner of your Glog.
Click on the paper clip, and a window will open with the
selected document attached. You may attach multiple
documents to a single Glog.
DRAW
Use the “DATA” button from the magnetic toolbox
to draw pictures on your Glog.
A toolbar will appear that you may use to change
the color of the pencil, add a link, add effects or
cancel changes.
Click OK when finished.
Select your drawing from your gallery.
Click “USE IT!”
When you select your drawing, you may:
edit your drawing, move it forward, move it back, clone it, cancel changes, or delete it.
SAVING YOUR GLOG
Save your Glog by using the “SAVE AND PUBLISH” button at the top or bottom of the screen.
Double‐check to be sure that you have named your blog. If not, give it a unique name.
Select the appropriate category. If unsure, check school.
Click finished or unfinished.
Click SAVE.
