код для вставки
BRAND NEW SEMINAR
Delivered by Pure Insight
“What if you could custom tailor your Stage-Gate® process to focus on
discipline and agility, or the unique needs of each and every project you
undertake? In this two day Masterclass I’ll teach you how to do both and
achieve a more flexible idea-to-launch process!
Join me in London in October and learn how best-in-class companies have
developed dynamic prioritisation processes for projects that carry differing
risk, aspiration or profit profiles.”

Alignment
Join us, if your:
Idea-to-launch system is too rigid,
too controlling or incapable of
shaping itself to the context of
particular projects.
Current Stage-and-Gate process
seems slow, cumbersome
or out-of-date with today’s
fast-paced and competitive
markets.
Project evaluation methods place
financial criteria above strategic
and competitive advantage,
meaning you too often say “no”
to innovative and potentially more
profitable projects.
Traditional financial models,
like NPV, are failing to give you
the right mix and balance of
development projects – too many,
small, conservative, pre-cast etc.
Resources are spread too thinly
across too many projects and lack
of focus has set in.

Class leader
A lot’s changed since the first generations of Stage-Gate systems
were implemented. Back then a single model would handle the most
difficult or complex new product development projects. But the world
has changed and become less predictable, making stable and rigid
product definitions increasingly difficult or business cases (sales and
profits) harder to predict...
Stage-Gate has of course evolved to
incorporate new practices and some
companies have even developed
their own versions. Like any popular
system, there’s criticisms. Some
are the result of the nature of the
process, others of the way its been
implemented. Especially though,
I’ve witnessed the valid concern that
the unique, context driven, needs of
today’s product development means
a one-size-fits-all approach is no
longer valid.
So what are companies doing to
move beyond their traditional Stage
and Gate systems?
Many firms have seen that customers,
for example, are now less and less
clear on what they want (or need)
in the first place. So, they’ve had to
focus on getting something in front
of them early and incorporating a
series of build-test-revise iterations
into their ideation process. Others
have developed faster track or lighter
versions of Stage-Gate to handle less
risky, better-defined or less complex
development projects.
In short, there’s no one answer, but
transforming your idea-to-launch
system into a leaner, more vibrant,
agile or flexible development
process, doesn’t need to mean
abandoning Stage-Gate. Far from it!
In this brand new seminar I’ll explain
why the nature of the uncertainties
and risk specific to a project, should
determine what happens in that
Clear field expertise backed up by extensive
relevant experience and very high credibility

project. So, if you’re finding your
idea-to-launch process is too linear,
too rigid or too planned to handle
more innovative or dynamic projects,
then join me in October in London
when we’ll discuss (amongst others):
•
New ways to incorporate spiral
development iterations – getting the
product right with fluid information
•
Building in elements of Agile development
– timely-boxed sprints and scrums for rapid
development
•
Context-based stage definitions and
activities
•
Risk based contingency models for
mapping out the idea-to-launch system
and tailored to the needs of the project,
as well as...
•
How to create more flexible, less financial
criteria for Go / Kill decisions
You’ll leave knowing how to adapt
your prioritsation process towards
less well defined but growing
markets, how to incorporate
technologies with great potential
(but higher risks) and take-away new
insights as to how to move projects
more quickly from milestone to
milestone.
Stage-Gate, in one form or another,
is now used in most product driven
organistations. Isn’t it time to
reflect on what’s wasting time
and creating blockages in your
development process?

About This Masterclass
Key
reason s
to attend
Overview
“Insights from Agile Development in the software
industry have helped one large company move
to much leaner gates, cutting the volume of
deliverables packages to a mere six pages!”
A one size fits all approach
to prioritisation can still suit
traditional product developments,
improvements and line
extensions. But commonly, and
especially in more innovative and
bolder projects, requirements
change in the time that passes
between the beginning and
end of development. So, when
product definitions are quick to
loose their original validity, or
change as customers confirm (or
reject) your value proposition, it’s
time to make your Stages’ and
Gates’ work smarter.
idea-to-launch system but while we
wait, important project decisions
still need to be made. By attending
this class, you’ll learn about both
the benefits and potential, of the
increasingly used practices of:
Value stream analysis to remove waste
Overlapping stages and concurrent activities
Sharpened front end activities
Time-boxed sprints for which the deliverable is
something physical that can be demonstrated
• Engaging customers in build-test-revise
iterations: spiral development
• Automated systems to speed up project
management
•
•
•
•
In some cases, you’ll learn that
a few evolutionary steps to
your own Stage-Gate (or similar
process) can lead to better and
faster development times. At
the opposite extreme, you’ll
understand why others have come
closer to revolutionising their entire
prioritisation process and moved to
a very different system. Whichever
end of the spectrum you decide
to focus improvement efforts on
after the class, you’ll leave knowing
how to adapt your Go/Kill criteria
to be less financially focused,
more strategic and driven by the
unique factors that influence
your business!
For some time, best in class firms
have been employing a range of
methods to reduce bureaucracy,
improve decision making, better
allocate resources and accelerate
time to market. This in-depth
Masterclass brings insights from
them together for the very first
time, and explains clearly how
focused improvements to your
process can dramatically create
a more Adaptable, Agile and
Accelerated process.
It will be some time, if ever, before
there’s unanimous agreement
on what defines the perfect
1
Your gated development system is too
structured, too financially focussed,
controlling or bureaucratic
2
Project teams are loaded with
paperwork, checklists or too much
non value-added work
3
You want to emphasize moving quickly
and nimbly from milestone to
milestone with all waste removed - no
bureaucracy, no unnecessary activities
anywhere in the system
4
Requirements change in the time that
passes between the beginning and end
of development so your original
product definition is no longer valid
5
Your product may be less than 50
percent defined as development
begins, but comes together during
development
6
You require a Stage-Gate process that
will be tailored to the risk profile of an
individual initiative
7
Your phase review process works for
mature markets, improvements and
extensions, but is not well suited to
emerging, fast-moving markets and
bolder projects
8
You’re working on technology
development or research projects
which require the flexibility to focus on
strategic, over financial, criteria
9
Your gates and their Go/Kill decisions
are no longer stand-alone and need to
work within your portfolio
management process
