Upload your information, works, and upcoming performances to the AMC Online Library (formerly known as
NewMusicJukebox) in Explore American Music. With over 45,000 works and over 5,500 composers listed from current and past
members, major publishers, and the AMC 20th Century Scores Collection, the AMC Online Library is the premiere place to promote

Read Opportunity Update and apply to the listings. Emailed monthly to you, Opportunity Update is one of the most complete
resources available announcing competitions, calls for scores, grant programs, and residencies. It also contains important
announcements from the Center.
Apply to AMC’s Composer Assistance Program (CAP). As a member, you are eligible to apply to CAP. CAP offers direct
assistance of up to $5,000 for the preparation costs for premiere performances. Visit for up-to-date
guidelines and an application.
Attend the Professional Development Program workshops. Held in different locations around the country, members receive
discounted admission to our workshops Tuning Up Your Career and Nuts & Bolts, some of our most valuable services to
composers. These workshops discuss copyright issues, score preparation, promotion, hands-on compositional issues, and more.
Searching for a new music ensemble near you? Members also receive a discounted subscription to Contemporary Music
Ensembles Directory, an online publication that lists hundreds of new music ensembles around the country. If you are an ensemble
member, you may submit your information for inclusion in this directory. Visit to get started.
Request scores and research. Members in good standing may check out perusal copies of up to three scores per month from the
AMC 20th Century Scores Collection at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. This unique collection contains over
60,000 works – some you can’t find anywhere else. If you are in the New York area, feel free to drop by the NYPL for the
Performing Arts or contact AMC online to request loan of perusal copies of scores.
Announce your next event with the AMC Mailing List. AMC members receive a discount on rental of our mailing list. The mailing
list can be sorted geographically or by other criteria. It is a perfect way to promote your event.
Use the Online Membership Directory. Lost contact with a former colleague or misplaced your favorite composer’s contact
information? The Online Membership Directory provides just that. AMC members who have chosen to be listed in the Online
Membership Directory can be found at
Information Assistance. As an AMC member you are entitled to two 30-minute sessions per year of one-on-one professional
advice from our expert staff. Members may make an appointment to call or visit the Center by filling out the online form.
Receive discounts on Finale and Sibelius! Members receive the educator’s discount on Finale and Sibelius software.
Need health insurance? You may be eligible for group health insurance through AMC. Coverage is available to all members in
good standing of the American Music Center who are engaged in an occupation in the arts or entertainment industries and reside in
the following areas: NY, NJ, CT, Greater Atlanta (GA) Area, Greater Chicago (IL) Area, Southern FL, and CA. Plans include Oxford
and GHI available in NY; CIGNA HMO, available in NJ, CT, Greater Chicago, and CA; CIGNA POS, available in NJ, CT, Greater

Come to AMC’s Annual Meeting and Award Ceremony. This special event held each year in May honors an impressive roster of
awardees and gives you the chance to meet your fellow colleagues. If you are in town, please join us for a stylish New York evening
for good food, drink, mingling, and entertainment!

Read NewMusicBox and put it to use. NewMusicBox ( is the only online magazine exclusively covering
new American music. If you teach, assign NewMusicBox articles as reading material for your students. Post an ad for your concert
at the member-discounted rate. Possibilities abound!
Listen to Counterstream Radio. Counterstream Radio is a 24/7 showcase for new music by American composers. The only
principle that defines the music we broadcast is that it's never about following the rules – this is music created without regard for
anyone who says, "You can't do that!" Tune in at and explore the sound of music without limits!
Attention Dance Companies! Dance companies in New York City and New Jersey can apply for the Live Music for Dance grant to
provide support for composer and performer fees. Visit for the most up-to-date guidelines and
application forms.
If you are an educator, the New American Music for Young Audiences catalog will help you find new works for students of various
ages. We continually add items to this catalog so be sure to visit regularly to see what's new.
Spread the word. Let colleagues, performers, new music enthusiasts, and advocates know they can search for your music on the
Online Library, read about the latest happenings in the new music scene on NewMusicBox, and listen to new American music 24
