The alarm signal transmission system uses a normal switched telephone
line connected to a telephone transmitter and an electronic circuit
which controls the voltage on the line. In the event of a failure of
the normal switched line lasting more than a specified time, the
electronic circuit directs the output information via a special
protected line via the outer box. If an alarm occurs on the cable
during failure of the normal line, it is transmitted directly by the
protected line. The electronic circuit advances a counter
simultaneously. A supply using batteries and a charger ensures that
the system functions even in the event of failure of the main
electrical supply. The system may be used to transmit an alarm signal
to the local police station from a bank to indicate a break-in at the
strong room, or a robbery.

La presente invention concerne les transmissions d'alarme par lignes
telephoniques.
Dans certains dispositifs connus de ce genre, on utilise uniquement
une ligne PTT specialisee autoprotegee en permanence et reliant le
local a proteger a un poste de police. Ce systeme presente
l'inconvenient de deranger inutilement la police en cas de fausse
alarme.
Dans d'autres dispositifs connus, on utilise uniquement une ligne
telephonique du reseau commute PTT avec un transmetteur qui appelle
automatiquement le numero d'une centrale de gardiennage privee et qui
indique la provenance geographique de l'appel ainsi que la nature de
l'alarme, par exemple: vol, hold up, incendie ou defaut technique.
Ceci permet une intervention adaptee a la nature de l'alarme,
effectuee par un personnel forme qui connait bien les lieux
d'intervention. Le gros inconvenient est le manque de fiabilite de la
transmission en cas de coupure accidentelle ou malveillance de la
ligne abonnee, ou en cas de defa llence technique du reseau.
Le systeme selon l'invention permet d'eviter ces inconvenients en
utilisant deux lignes differentes: une ligne commute utilisee
normalement et une ligne specialisee utilisee uniquement en secours
lors de la defaillance de la ligne commutee.
Selon une application qui est representee, le moyen de transmission
normal comprend une ligne telephonique (I) du reseau commute, un
transmetteur telephonique (2) et un circuit electronique (3) qui
controle la presence de la tension reseau sur la ligne.
En cas de defaillance, superieure a une duree reglahleode la ligne
reseau commutee normale, le circuit electronique (3) aiguille la
sortie d'information vers la ligne specialisee autoprotegee (4) a
travers le boitier d'extremite (5). Si une alarme survient par le
cable (7)'pendant la defaillance de la ligne commutee normale
(I),-elle est transmise imme- diatement par la ligne specialisee
autoprotegee (4). Le circuit electro niqus32ait avancer simultanement
d'une unite un compteur d'impulsion sans remise a zero (6).
Au cas ou un appel par la ligne commutee normale n'aboutirait pas
malgre un certain nombre, reglable, de tentatives, le circuit (3)
declenche une alarme par la ligne specialisee de secours (4) et fait
avancer d'une unite le compteur (6). Une alimentation (8) avec
batteries et chargeur assure le fonctionnement de l'ensemble en cas de
defaillance de l'alimen tation electrique secteur (9),
Le systeme objet de l'invention peut etre utilise dans tous les cas ou
l'on desire une transmission d'alarme discrete et tres fiable.
Une application particulierement interessante est la transmission
d'alarme pour les banques en cas de tentative d'effraction de la
chambre forte ou en cas de hold up.

initial (start) state.
4. You can select which part of the document you'd like to view by
using the pull down menu here.
You can select "Full Text" to view the entire document.
5. For non-latin languages, (in most cases) full text translations
are available, you can toggle them on and off here.
You can also toggle the inline discovery translations between
English and their original language.
6. The pie chart icon will open a basic statistical breakdown of the
publication.
7. The sort icon allows you to sort the listed categories based on
the number of instances found.
Click to toggle between ascending and descending.
8. You can use the refine box to refine the discovered items in the
sections below.
Simply type what you are looking for, any items that do not match
will be temporarily hidden.

The specific items found are listed within the category headings.
Click the section header to open that section and view all the
identitfied items in that section.
If you click the checkbox all items in that section will be

The best thing to do is to experiment by opening the sections and

10. The main output window contains the publication full text (or part
thereof if selected).
11. The Tools section contains tools to help you navigate the
"discovered" (highlighted) items of interest.
The arrows and counter let you move through the highlighted items
in order.
12. Other tools include a "Preview" option [ [preview.png] ] and the
ability to mark the relative locations of highlighted items by
using the "Marker" option [ [marker.png] ].
Try these out to best understand how they work, and to discover if
they are of use to you.
13. Items selected from the menu on the left will be highlighted in
the main publication section (here in the middle of the screen).
Click them for further information and insights (including
chemical structure diagrams where available).
14. Please experiment with TextMine - you cannot make any permanent
changes or break anything and once your session is closed (you've
log out) all your activity is destroyed.
