The needle bearing consists of an inner and outer race (1,2) with the
needle rollers (3) running in the tracks (5,6) between them. The
needle rollers follow a conical path. They are retained by a cage (4).
The boron (7) of the inner race has a tapered lead at either end

La presente invention concerne les roulements a aiguilles et se
rapporte
plus particulierement aux
roulements a aiguiles coniques.
Les roulements a aiguilles coniques connus sont generalemont des
roulements de precision, couteux a realiser. Or, il serait interessant
d'utiliser des
roulements de ce type dans des applications oA? le roule-
ment doit pouvoir supporter de fortes charges sous un
faible encombrement radial.
Tel est le cas notamment pour les rouleaux de manutention qui sont
constitues par un tube d'acier portant a chacune de ses extremites un
roulement dont la
bague exterieure est fixee au tube et dont la bague in-
terieure forme moyeu pour un axe de support du rouleau.
L'invention vise donc a creer un roulement a
aiguilles conique economique, dont le cout de fabrica-
tion soit adapte a des materiels relativement simples tels que des
rouleaux de manutention dont il serait
destine a faire partie.
Elle a donc pour objet un roulement a aiguil-
les conique comportant une bague interieure, une bague
exterieure et des aiguilles montees dans une cage inter-
posees entre les bagues interieure et exterieure, carac-
terise en ce que lesdites bagues interieure et exterieu-
re sont realisees par frappe a froid ou extrusion, fa surface laterale
cylindrique de l'une desdites bagues
presentant a ses deux extremites des degagements annu-
laires de compensation,lors du montage du roulement, des
tolerances importantes de conicite desdites bagues.
D'autres caracteristiques de l'invention ap-
paraitront au cours de la description qui va suivre,
faite en reference aux dessins annexes, donnde unique-
ment a titre d'exemple et sur lesquels: la Fig l est une vue en l 1
vation et en coupe d'un roulement conique suivant l'invention; la Fig
2 est une vue en 1 19 vation et en coupe d'un rouleau de manutention
pourvu de roulements a aiguilles coniques suivant l'invention; la Fig
3 est une vue partielle O plus grande echelle montrant un premier mode
de montage de la bague interieure de l'un des roulements coniques du
rouleau de la Fig 2, sur l'axe de support de ce rouleau; la Fig 4 est
une vue correspondant a la Fig 3, d'une variante de montage de la
bague interieure; la Fig 5 est une vue partielle en elevation et en
coupe d'un autre type de rouleau equipe de
roulements coniques a aiguilles, suivant l'invention.
Le roulement conique a aiguilles represente a la Fig l comporte
principalement une bague interieure 1, une bague exterieure 2 et des
aiguilles 3 montees dans une cage 4 Les bagues interieure et
exterieure s'ont realisees suivant l'invention par frappe a froid ou
par extrusion et ne subissent ensuite aucune operation de
rectification I 1 en resulte que les tolerances avec lesquelles on
obtient ces pieces sont importantes, notamment en ce qui concerne la
conicite des pistes de
roulement conique 5 et 6 des bagues interieure et exte-
rieure respectivement.
Afin de rattraper ces tolerances importantes, les extremites de
l'alesage 7 de la bague interieure 1 sont detalonnees pour former des
degagements annulaires 8 et 9 Comme represente a la Fig l, les
degagements 8 et 9 sont de forme tronconique et d'une conicit 5 de
l'ordre de 4 et se terminent par des arrondis respec-
tifs 10 et 11 qui les raccordent aux faces d'extremite
de la bague 1.
Les degagements annulaires 8 et 9 sont de largeurs inegales, pour des
raisons de centrage par rapport au centre d'application des forces du
roulement
qui est le point de concours des droites perpen-
diculaires aux milieux des aiguilles 3. Sur la Fig 2, on a represente
un rouleau de manutention equipe de roulements a aiguilles coniques du
type decrit en reference a la Fig l Ce rouleau est constitue par un
tube cylindrique 15 en acier ou autre materiau, aux deux extremites
duquel sont fixes par exemple par soudage, des flasques 16 recevant
chacun un roulement 17 Chaque roulement est fixe dans le flasque
correspondant par sa bague exterieure 2, alors que sa
bague interieure 1 est montee sur l'axe 18 du rouleau.
La bague interieure 1 du roulement presentant les degagements 8 et 9,
elle est susceptible de basculer sous l'effet d'une legere difference
de conicite entre les pistes de roulement 5 et 6 On doit donc prevoir
pour la bague interieure 1, un degre de liberte axial A
cet effet,comme represente a la Fig 3, la bague inte-
rieure 1 est immobilise du cote de son plus grand diame-
tre par une rondelle elastique 19 intercalee entre la face de la bague
interieure et un circlips 19 a monte
dans une gorge 20 de l'axe 8.
La Fig 4 montre une va-riante de montage de la bague interieure 1 a
l'aide d'une rondelle elastique courbe 21 egalement engagee dans une
gorge 22 de l'axe du rouleau Ainsi, si lors du montage, les pistes de
roulement de la bague exterieure et de la bague inte-
rieure presentent des conicites legerement differentes, la conicite de
la bague interieure peut s'adapter a celle de la bague exterieure par
un leger basculement de la bague interieure 1 qui se traduit egalement
par un leger deplacement axial contre la rondelle de retenue
decrite en reference aux Fig 3 et 4.

un effet analogue des aiguilles tres fortement detalon-
nees. On voit que grace a l'agencement qui vient d'etre decrit, les
diverses pieces du roulement prennent d'elles-memes les positions
relatives correspondant a un
fonctionnement optimal, cette adaptation, due a la pre-
sence des degagements sur la surface cylindrique de
l'une des bagues du roulement etant assuree en permanen-
ce lors du fonctionnement du roulement.
Par ailleurs, on constate que la presence de
tels degsgements, permet au roulement, notamment lors-
qu'il est utilise dans un rouleau de manutention, d'ab-
sorber les flexions dues aux charges radiales exercees
sur l'axe du rouleau ou bien sur le logement du roule-
ment proprement dit.
