Big Ben.
December 25 – Christmas Day
It's Christmas!
It's Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Yes, it's merry, merry Christmas,
it's time for hanging stockings,
It's time for riding sleighs,
It's time for jolly greeting,
Snow and holly, overeating,
Oh, I love you merry Christmas,
You're the best of holidays
February 14 – St.Valentine’s Day
People buy or make Valentine cards
and send them to people they love.
They should not write their names on
the cards. Those who get them must
guess who sent them.
SPRING
March 14 – Mother’s Day
Today is Mother's Day
Today is Mother's Day.
Let's help Mama.
I'll make breakfast.
You make lunch.
I'll do the dishes.
You do the shopping.
Let's help Mama.
It's Mother's Day.
Today is Mother's Day.
Let's help Mama.
I'll sweep the bedrooms.
You make the beds.
I'll clean the kitchen.
You do the laundry.
Let's help Mama.
It's Mother's Day.
April – Easter
At Easter children eat chocolate
Easter eggs. Sometimes parents
hide them in the house or in the
garden and the children look for
them.
Day Spring - May 25
This day can be rightfully called a
celebration of flowers - on the eve of
houses and streets of England are
decorated with garlands of spring
flowers. In the morning the streets
are held parades with flowers and
branches of flowering trees. A day
and evening celebration continues in
the form of folk festivals.
SUMMER
June – Father’s Day
On Father’s Day children give or send
their fathers and grandfathers cards
or present.
July – Racing
There are all kinds of racing in
England: horseracing, motor-car
racing, boat-racing, dog racing and
even racing for donkeys. But there is
the most famous boat-racing
between Oxford and Cambridge. It is
rowed over a course on the river
Thames and thousand of people go
to watch it.
The First of September – School
starts
School bells are ringing, loud and clear;
Vocation’s over, school is here
When autumn comes and the weather
is cool,
Noting can take the place of school.
October 31 – Halloween
Treat
Trick or treat, trick or treat,
Give us something good to eat.
Give us candy, give us cake,
Give us something sweet to take.
Give us cookies, fruit and gum,
Hurry up and give us some.
You had better do it quick
Or we'll surely play a trick.
Trick or treat, trick or treat,
Give us something good to eat.
November – Thanksgiving Day (in
the USA)
There is family holiday. People
gather to give thanks for all the
good things in their lives. They
make a big turkey dinner.
