Ship Salvage Value
• The ship salvage value calculated each year is the
price that would be paid for each ship, if the game
ended in that year.
• The ship salvage value may be a constant set to a
value between $0 and $500 or
• The salvage value may be set to equal the average
profit per ship in all areas over recent years.
• The period over which average profit is calculated
may be set to between 1 and 6 years.

B 7
Sequence of Debits and Credits
You start the year with
a bank balance that
has accumulated
through all past years.
You are then
charged for the
operating costs
of your fleet.

–
The minimum balance is calculated
and your account is adjusted by the
appropriate interest.
If you buy ships at
auction or from other
teams, the cost is
subtracted.

Your fish catch is
calculated and
you are credited
with the sales
income.
Finally, your account
is charged for the cost
of any new ships you
ordered at the
beginning of the year.
